A Day in the Life of a Maintenance Supervisor A practical, real life session that looks at the role of the supervisor, key supervisor knowledge, skills and competencies and common pitfalls. This session answers the question: What makes a great Supervisor? Communication – A Two Way Process Supervisors need strong communication skills. In this session we address using the right mode of communication, dealing with difficult people and customer service.

Presenters Rob Wilson, Director, 4C Management Solutions Pty. Ltd. Director: Rob has 25 years’ experience in plant & vehicle management and has held senior positions in fleet, logistics and corporate management. Rob has taught in the TAFE environment and has also presented and delivered workshops at Industry Conferences. Rob is a Mechanical Trade Technician and has a Master of Business Administration (Deakin), an Associate Diploma Engineering (Chisholm), a Certificate 4 Training and Assessment (NMIT) and a Company Directors Diploma, with Order of Merit (AICD). Steven Colliver, Manager Fleet Management Services, Dubbo City Council: Steven has been employed by Dubbo City Council for over 17 years and has worked at four other Councils ranging from McIvor Shire in Victoria to Nguiu Council on Bathurst Island in the NT. Steve has formal qualifications in mechanical engineering and a Masters in Business Administration. He is currently the Chair of the IPWEA Fleet Plus Panel and is passionate about Fleet Management and the advancement of our profession. Andrew Railz, Manager Fleet Services: Andrew is Manager Fleet Services of a large Regional Queensland Council and is an experienced fleet manager with 19 years local government experience. Andrew is a trade qualified diesel fitter, has tertiary qualifications in Maintenance Management and has completed extensive fleet management training in the United States. Andrew is also the Deputy Chairperson of the IPWEA Fleet Plus Panel and is very keen to advance fleet management in Australia.
