FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 13, 2016
MEDIA ADVISORY EVENT: 2016 “BBQ & Bales” Open House will occur on Saturday, October 15, 2016 11 am to 1 pm, at the House of Mercy business complex at 8170 Flannery Court, Manassas 20109.
House of Mercy will host a “BBQ & Bales” Open House to celebrate the role of the organization in the local community. Free barbeque will be available, as well as deals in the Thrift Store. House of Mercy (HOM) will host “BBQ & Bales,” a public event to celebrate and acknowledge the contributions made by the many donors and sister organizations who help make HOM what it is. The commitments made by individuals throughout northern Virginia provide support and provide service to the needy in the local community. Additionally, this is an open invitation for people to explore the House of Mercy Food Pantry, Thrift Store, Donation Center and Learning Center, and to learn more about available aid services. Because of the diligence and sacrifice of the many types of donors who support HOM, this 11 year old food pantry and clothing distribution organization is able to have a positive impact on people in need in the greater Manassas, Gainesville, Centreville, and Warrenton area. HOM does not have any geographical boundaries, and provides food aid to people regardless of where they live. HOM donors (including our awesome volunteers) consistently give their “talent and treasure” in order to serve the greater community. The organization, drawing upon its Roman Catholic Christian tradition, appreciates that love, charity, and mercy are guiding principles that will continue to address the many challenges facing “community” today. The purpose of this fun event is to celebrate HOM donors, volunteers and staff and to encourage people to explore this dynamic organization.
