RGAA Meeting Minutes – Monday, August 3, 2015 Call to order Drew Boots called the regular meeting of RGAA to order at 8:31pm on Monday, August 3, 2015 at the Pantherette Park Pavilion.

All but $3,000 of the bill from Vance has been paid. Lisa sent a letter with the payment letting them know that there were still outstanding issues and that we had under budgeted for the project. Lisa applied for a loan for RGAA at Wes Banco and was denied Lisa sent a letter to North Sewickley with our bills from Vance and our Pirates grant information and asked for a donation to help with all of our costs. Pirates Grant o Lisa will deposit the check this month o Kurt Fryer will prep the site this fall o ASA insurance will not cover our playground. Geri Lynn is investigating if the school insurance will cover it since the school owns the property RGAA was approved as a 501c3/Federal non-profit organization Golf Outing o Lisa Boots is going to get pricing on hole sponsor signs o August 31 is the deadline for registration and for sponsors o Winning foursome will win a round of golf at Olde Stonewall for each of the four o Current sponsors already received: Dick’s, Fun Fore All, Olde Stonewall, Pittsburgh Zoo, Giles Market, McElwain, United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 922 o Need to follow up with Chuck Sterner, Alice Gretch, Greg Ottaviani, and Jaime Fryer about possible sponsors. John Conner (and the North Sewickley Water Authority) will fix the water line at the front field once they have their staff back. Picnic is set for Saturday August 8 o Volunteers needed for the day of the picnic. Please be there by noon to help with set up. If you have an extra cooler or tub for drinks, please bring it. o Dan Goehring is bringing sound system o RGAA supplies burgers, dogs, buns, pop, ice, water, plates o Please bring a side or dessert o Fundraising committee will do a 50/50 and raffle off a back to school basket o Val will text coaches to turn in equipment at picnic RGAA Fall Fast Pitch o Online registration extended to Aug 8 o Current registration at  8U – 16  10U – 19  12U – 7  15U – 9 o Beaver Falls contacted Jamie Zona about having 6 10U players that would like to play for us since they can’t field a full team o Lisa Ottaviani expressed interest in moving her daughter and a few other girls from 10U to 12U to ensure that there are enough girls for a 12U team. o The board will meet to decide how to break up the girls into teams and decide on coaches.



o Fall fundraiser will be a Chestnut Candle sale with a buyout option Ellwood Fall Slow Pitch o Val sent out the signup info via email and Facebook o Signups will be August 10,11, and 12 from 6-8pm at Stiefel Pavilion o $50 per girl, $25 first sister, $10 each additional sister o No late signups o Contact Deb Johnston 724-421-6317

Val asked if RGAA could sell the field lights that can’t be used. Drew estimated that RGAA has about 30 cans and 30 light bulbs. Alice looked on ebay and found that one light was listed for over $300. Alice is going to ask her contact on a travel team if they would be interested as they are building a new field. Valerie asked if just the head coach receives his volunteer refund or is assistants do as well. The membership discussed whether or not the assistant should. Tosh Sterner asked if anyone has contacted Jarett Gibbon’s office for a grant. Jaime Fryer gave the Fundraising Committee update o 8 year old boys’ tournament was held and RGAA had the snack shack open for all 6 games that were held at Pantherette. RGAA profited $800. o RGAA will have a spot at the Franklin Twp Community Day on August 5. Pirate tickets and a lottery basket will be raffled off. There will be face painting and games/prizes. o The Fall Ball fundraiser will be selling Chestnut Candles with a buyout option o 50/50 and a back to school basket will be raffled off at the RGAA picnic on August 8 o Cassie set up tagging (girls stand in front of establishment asking for donations) at Wes Banco, Christy’s, and Dollar General (North Sewickley) for August 15. Sign up for a 2 hour slot from 9-11 or 11-1. o RGAA will be set up at Panther Night on August 20 basically the same as Franklin Community Day. The Fall Ball girls will be acknowledged on the field. o Golf Outing was already discussed o Possibility of Paint Night, Halloween 5K, and tournaments in the future September meeting will have election of officers. Vice President and Secretary are up for election. Voting will take place during the September meeting. Drew and Lisa (President and Treasurer) put in their notice that they will be stepping down in September of 2016 as their youngest daughter will be done.

Next meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 14, 2015 at 8:30pm at the Riverside Middle School Old Cafeteria.
