James Scrymgeour and Son, mere' ants in Borrowftcunnefs, Purfuers, Bout the month of March 176^ William Alexander and Sons had occafion to freight a lhip to the ifland of Gra­ nada, or to Virginia, or Maryland. They accordingly agreed to freight a lhip, viz. The Duke o f Athol, from. MefT. Scrymgeour and Son, to ferve in either o f thefe voyages, at their own option. The nature o f this tranfaction will beft appear from the following letter, written by the MefT. Alexanders. “ MefT. Scrymgeour and Son, Borrownounnefs, Gentlemen, WeMsr.23.176> (( hereby agree to freight your fhip Duke of Athol, Captain W il­ (( liam Dick, on either of the following voyages, in our option, to a be determined by a letter from us om or before the 1 cth of Au pril next, viz. from this frith, to any port or ports in the u ifland o f Granada, in the Weft Indies, and back to London; to a pay 35. 6 d.
