Norma D. Friesen, age 90, of Henderson, Nebraska, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016, at Henderson. She was born August 17, 1925, in Henderson to William P. and Marie (Friesen) Siebert.

She wrote, “I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and was baptized on my confession of faith on June 13,1943 by Rev. A. W. Friesen. I was married to Walter A. Friesen on April 27, 1944, by Rev. A. W. Friesen.” She graduated from Henderson High School on May 25, 1943.

To this union, four children were born; Wally, Twila, Nyla and Dianne. She was a member of Bethesda Mennonite Church and enjoyed gardening, Mission Circle, Garden Club and Social Committee Chairman of numerous organizations including the first Nebraska Mennonite Central Committee Sale Social Chairman. Norma is survived by her children; Wally (Shirley) Friesen, Twila (Lloyd) Nickels of Hampton, Nebraska, Nyla Friesen (H. Joe Smiley) of Newton, Kansas, and Dianne Wall (Keith Wieseman) of Columbus, Nebraska. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; Kim (Karen) Friesen, Kevin (Stephanie) Friesen, Lonnie (Michelle) Nickels, Craig (Monica) Nickels, Chad (Jessica) Nickels, Dana, Darin, Drew and Dylan Wall. Great grandchildren

include Grant and Garrett Friesen, Karley, Blake and Nick Friesen, Cole and Austin Nickels, Kylie Nespor, Mitchell Tucker, Clay Nickels, and Marlee, Maxee, Melbee and Murfee Nickels. She is also survived by her sisters; Elvera Huebert of Henderson, Ardena Regier of Ogallala, Alvina Hofer of Bridgewater, South Dakota, Lois (Roger) Kroeker of Las Vegas, Nevada, and sisterin-law Marie (Harold) Epp of Henderson.
