HEAD COACH BRYAN WEAKLEY Bryan Weakley began as head men’s basketball coach at Texas A&M International University in 2012 after serving as an associate head coach since 2009. With the program, Weakley has played an integral role in the program’s rise to prominence. This season, he became TAMIU’s all-time winningest basketball coach, had the highest team GPA is program history (3.128), led TAMIU to the Heartland Conference tournament for the 6th time in 7 seasons, and produced Heartland all conference players Anthony Alston and Arkeem Joseph. Under his guidance, the Dustdevils have had 3 out of 4 winning seasons and a heartland conference tournament championship and NCAA tournament appearance in 2014. In addition, he helped guide back-to-back Heartland Conference Championships in 2010-2011 and 2011-2012, has seen 22 of his players graduate and 10 extend their playing careers in the pros.

COACHING STAFF Assistant Coach - Louis Truscott
Associate Head Coach - Joel Taylor Taylor, a native of Delta, Utah, entered his first season at TAMIU in 2014-15. In 2016-17, he will serve as Assistant Coach for Men’s Basketball. In his years before TAMIU, he had six years of coaching experience at the NJCAA and NCAA levels. Taylor has a strong history of winning. He had previoulsy served as an assistant coach at Eastern Wyoming College. A defensive specialist, Taylor played a big role in the Lancer basketball program as his teams won two Region IX championships in three seasons and appeared twice in the NJCAA tournament.
An elite player during his playing days with ten years of professional basketball experience, Louis Truscott brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to TAMIU’s Men’s Basketball program. The Houston, Texas native will begin his first season serving as an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach on staff. Truscott will also serve as the Recruiting Coordinator and Community Service Coordinator. Truscott perviously served as an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Western Nebraska Community College (2013-2016).
