Career at Colorado—Third-year member on the men’s Nordic team that features four upperclassmen. He has competed in 19 out of 24 races in his first two seasons in the program.
2016 (Sophomore)—He competed in and finished nine races including the RMISA Championships in both disciplines, with his top finish at regionals in classical. He was a part of the 2016 RMISA Championship Nordic team, finishing 23 at regionals in classical. His highest finish of the season was a 14th-place showing in freestyle at the New Mexico Invitational, helping CU to a SEASON BY SEASON RESULTS first-place Nordic finish. His top classical finish was 17th at the Montana State Individual, 2015 CL FS helping the men’s team to a first-place finish there as well. The men’s Nordic team won three Utah Invitational 18 25 of its six meets during the season. Colorado Invitational 26 28 2015 (Freshman)—For his first year with the Buffs, he competed in and finished 10 races New Mexico Invitational 28 24 with one top 20 finish when he placed 20th in classical at the Utah Invitational. He was a Alaska Anchorage Invitational 27 31 finalist for the CU Male Freshman Athlete of Year. RMISA Championships 30 32 NCAA Championships Club—He skied for Ski and Snowboard Club Vail from 2012-14, the Rocky Mountain Junior National Team from 2009-14 and the Crested Butte Winter Sports Club from 2005-11. He 2016 CL FS participated in Super Tour races at West Yellowstone and had nine wins. He placed 13th in Utah Invitational 25 27 the freestyle race in a Super Tour race in 2013 and he was the top Rocky Mountain Junior Montana State Invitational 17 32 Division Qualifier four out of five years from 2010-14. Colorado Invitational - 31 New Mexico Invitational 24 14 High School—He graduated from Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy in May 2014 and also RMISA Championships 23 32 attended the Crested Butte Community School. He participated on the varsity Nordic skiing, track & field and mountain biking teams throughout high school. He was part of the mountain NCAA Championships biking Colorado state championship team in 2012. He was on the All-State team and placed second at the Colorado State Championships in 2012. He placed 13th in the freestyle race at the State Championships. In 2012 at Crested Butte Community School, his cross country running team won the State Championship and in 2013 his Ski and Snowboard Club Vail was named the USSA Team of the Year. He was a member of the All-State Cross Country team in 2010-11 as a freshman and sophomore and his freshman year he was an All-American in the 5K freestyle. In 2012, he set the Crested Butte Community School record for the 5K in a time of 16:03. In the Classroom—He is majoring in finance at Colorado and is also interested in international relations.
Personal—Ian Jerome Boucher was born Dec. 23, 1995, in Placerville, Calif., to Channing and Rose Boucher. He enjoys being outdoors, biking, hiking and playing volleyball and soccer. His goal after college is to travel the world. He is related to John Boucher, who is a member of the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame. John Boucher attended St. John’s College, having never played football or lacrosse and ended up lettering three times in football and played every minute of every game of his lacrosse career and was a first-team AllAmerican in 1929 when the school won its first National Championship. He chose Colorado because it has “great skiing, is a great place and has great people.”

2016 (Junior)—He raced in nine of the 10 races leading up to the NCAA Championships and
finished all nine with seven top 20 performances and five top 10, four of which came in
freestyle races. He was at his best at the New Mexico Invitational when he took eighth in the freestyle race and 10th in the classic race. 2015 (Sophomore)—He competed in all 12 races, including his first appearance at the NCAA
Championship. He had two top 10 races on the year, sixth at the New Mexico Invitational and seventh at the Alaska Invitational, both in the freestyle events. He finished for fourteenth at the freestyle event in the NCAA Championships, helping Colorado win its 20th National Championship. 2014 (Freshman)—He competed in eight of 10 potential regular season races for the
Buffaloes, earning four top 20 and three top 15 finishes. His best race was his first collegiate freestyle race, taking 12th in the discipline at Montana State after missing the same race at Utah due to his participation at U.S. Nationals. His best classical finish was also in Bozeman, a 14th place finish. He did not compete in the freestyle race at the RMISA Championships. Club—Hill competed in a handful of FIS sanctioned races prior to coming to CU. He finished third in the 10K freestyle race at the U.S. Junior National Championships in January 2014. He received a total of seven All-American honors at the Junior National Championships, including two in 2014. He was an alternate for the U.S. on its World Junior Cross Country Team.
High School—Hill graduated from Summit High School in
Frisco, Colo., in June 2013 where he competed in Nordic skiing,
soccer and lacrosse. He was a member of the Colorado State Champions ski team in 2010, 2012 and 2013 and won the individual State Championship in the 5K freestyle race in 2013. In the Classroom—Hill is majoring in integrated physiology at
Colorado.

All-America honors in the 15K freestyle race at the 2016 Junior Nationals. In 2016 at those Junior Nationals
held at Telemark, Wisc., he had three top 20 finishes; placing 10th in the 15K freestyle race, 14th in the 3K skate relay and 17th in the 10K classic race. High School—Potyk graduated from Joel E. Ferris High School in Spokane, Wash. in June of 2016 as the
Valedictorian of his class. There he played soccer (midfielder and goalkeeper) under coach Erik Powell and also ran cross country under coach Mike Hadway. His top 5K run was 16:31. He helped lead his cross country team in 2015 to a fourth place WIAA state meet finish. Individually, he was named the 2016 Spokane Sports Commission Non-High School Athlete of the Year. In the Classroom—Potyk intends on studying chemical and biological
engineering at CU in addition to Spanish. Personal—Andrew Potyk was born
on Aug. 29, 1997 in Spokane, Wash. He is the son of Carol Guthrie and Darry Potyk, who are both physicians. He has a twin borther, Joel, who is a freshman at Oregon State and member of its polo team, and a younger sister, Lauren, who is a junior in high school. His hobbies include fly fishing, rafting, water skiing, rock climbing, mountain biking and alpine touring (backcountry skiing). After college he would like to either become a physician like his parents or work in development in biological/chemical engineering.

Career at Colorado—He garnered second-team All-American honors as a freshman in both Nordic disciplines after finishing sixth (freestyle) and ninth (classical) at his first NCAA Championships. 2016 (Freshman)—He began his CU career with a bang, competing in 11 of the 12 races on the season and finishing in the top nine all 11 times. He had six top five finishes with three podium appearances. All three podiums were runner-up finishes in classic races at the Montana State SEASON BY SEASON RESULTS Invitational, the New 2016 CL FS Mexico Invitational and the Utah Invitational 4 7 RMISA Championships. He Montana State Invitational 2 4 earned two second-team Colorado Invitational 7 All-America performances New Mexico Invitational 2 4 at the NCAA Championships RMISA Championships 2 6 held in Steamboat Springs, NCAA Championships 9 6 taking sixth in the freestyle and ninth in the classic race. He attempted to doublepole the entire 20K classic race and was leading past the halfway point on the final day of NCAA Championships and still held on for a top 10 finish. He was named first-team All-RMISA and was the RMISA Skier of the Week for the Montana State Invitational. He was a finalist for the CU CUSPY for the Male Freshman of the Year award. He was named to the National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team for maintaining above a 3.5 cumulative grade point average and participating at the RMISA Championships/ NCAA Eat Regional. Club—Reistad has skied for Baerums Verk Sports Club since the beginning of his career. He participated in FIS Junior World Championships in 2014 at Val di Fiemme, Italy and there he won one gold and one bronze medal. He won seven medals in the Norwegian Championships through his career. In 2014, he placed third, overall in the Norwegian Cup. High School—Reistad graduated from Nadderud Upper Secondary School in Oslo, Norway in June 2013. In the Classroom—Reistad is majoring in finance at Colorado.

2017 colorado buffaloes 2014 (Freshman)—As a freshman on an already deep Nordic team, Scrimgeour was plagued with illness throughout his first season at CU. He finished four of five races that he participated in with the CU Spencer James Nelson Memorial Invitational the only meet in which he finished both races, taking 26th in the 10K classic race and 28th in the 20K freestyle race. He took 24th in the 10K freestyle race at the Montana State Invitational and 26th in the 10K classic race at the RMISA Championships. Club—Scrimgeour competed with the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club through high school and then competed with Ski Club Vail from 2012-13. He enjoyed 10 top 10 finishes at Junior Nationals and finished first in the 2011 Junior National relay. He also competed with the Scandinavian cup team. High School—Scrimgeour graduated from Steamboat Springs High School in June 2012. In the Classroom—Scrimgeour is majoring in mechanical engineering at Colorado and is also interested in architecture. Personal—Maxfield Scrimgeour was born Aug. 18, 1994 in Boulder, Colo., to Tom Scrimgeour and Sandi Gibson. He is interested in mountain biking, aspires to keep skiing and get a great job after college. He has worked as a bike mechanic at Ski Haus in Steamboat Springs. He chose Colorado because it’s close to home and “the best place for school and skiing.”

ranks fourth all-time at CU and second among men’s Nordic skiers (just five behind former teammate Rune Oedegaard’s 19). 2016 (Junior)—Simply put, he had the best season in CU men’s Nordic history and one of the
best seasons in men’s Nordic action in NCAA history. He finished all 12 races with 11 finishes
in the top 10, 10 podiums and eight race victories. He set CU records for most wins in a season by a men’s Nordic skier and also set a new mark for a men’s Nordic skier by winning six straight races to close out the season. He won two Individual NCAA Championships, taking both the classic and freestyle races at the NCAA Championships. He was named the Men’s Nordic National Skier of the Year by both FasterSkier and the USCSCA Collegiate Ski Coaches Association. He was a two-time individual RMISA champion after winning both the classic race and the freestyle race at the regional championships. A two-time first-team All-American, he was the RMISA Men’s Nordic Skier of the Year and the RMISA Men’s Nordic MVP. seasons in CU history, winning four races and finishing as runner-up six more times, including five times to teammate Rune Oedegaard as the duo finished 1-2 in nine of 10 races leading up to the NCAA Championships. Stroem finished fourth in the 10K freestyle race and then was second in the 20K classic race at the NCAA Championships. A two-time All-American, he was also first-team All-RMISA and the No. 2 seeded skier out of the RMISA for the NCAA Championships. 2014 (Freshman)—Stroem wasted no time in establishing himself as one of the top
collegiate skiers in the nation in 2014. After missing the first two meets competing in the Norwegian National Championships in Molde where he placed in the top 20 in every race, he hit the podium in his first collegiate race and won his first race in his second outing, both at CU’s Spencer James Nelson Memorial Invitational. He was third in the classic and won the freestyle race there. At the RMISA Championships, he finished on the podium in both races, taking third place in the classic and freestyle races there. After being disappointed with a fourth place finish in the classic race at NCAA Championships, for which he was still named first-team AllAmerican, he rebounded to win the freestyle national championship, easily pulling away for the race victory in the final race of the season. He earned two first-team All-America honors and was first-team All-RMISA as a rookie. He earned the CUSPY award for CU’s Freshman Male Athlete of the Year and was CU’s Athlete of the Week for the NCAA Championships and the RMISA Skier of the Week for the RMISA Championships. In the Classroom—Stroem is majoring in business at Colorado.
Personal— Mads Ek Stroem was born April 18, 1991 in
Oslo, Norway to Christian and Nina Stroem. He is interested in soccer, especially Manchester United, and aspires to compete in the World Championships and Olympics after college.
