Merc & Mags, CVYB Scholarship Program Vision Central Valley Youth Baseball (CVYB) firmly believes that each child who wishes to play baseball should be entitled to do so regardless of skill or financial circumstances. Our league will not deny any child a chance to play baseball due to a financial hardship.
Merc & Mags, CVYB Scholarship Program To aid parents who may need assistance with Registration Fees1, the CVYB Oranization has worked with the Merc & Mags Memorial Benefit Committee in developing a scholarship program that will help us achieve our vision by offering the following: Full scholarships that covers all Registration Fees1 Partial scholarships that cover 1/2 of the Registration Fees1 for a family (2 or more registrants) Fifty dollar ($50) scholarships for single registrants
What Every Parent and/or Guardian Should Know About the Scholarship Process Before submitting the scholarship request form to Central Valley Youth Baseball (
[email protected]), parent(s) and/or guardian(s) should understand the following: The scholarship eligibility requirements The scholarship review period turnaround time (up to 7 days) Forms need to completely filled out (detailed instructions are included with the form) Forms need to be submitted by March 7, 2016 Contact the CVYB President with questions
Scholarship Eligibility Requirements Those seeking a scholarship must explain the nature of the hardship and/or provide documentation supporting the request. Specifically, to be eligible for a scholarship, the following information must be provided to Central Valley Youth Baseball: An explanation of the financial hardship with supporting documentation o Loss of Job o Death of Spouse or Other Family Member o Damage to Property o Severe Illness o Divorce or Separation o Relocation o Military Service o Reduced Income o Other
Free or Reduced Lunch Application approved by your child's school. For more information see the Central Valley School District Food Services web site. CVYB Registration Form containing all of the player's information Proof of residency in the Central Valley School District Proof of age
How to Apply The scholarship request process is very straightforward. To ensure proper due diligence, every scholarship request is examined and assessed on its own merit. 1. Once the scholarship form has been submitted, the CVYB Executive Board will review the request 2. The Board can take up to 7 days to complete o Within 5 Days: The Board will respond indicating the application has been received, ask questions, and/or ask for additional documentation o Within 7 Days: The Board will respond via e-mail with a decision on the scholarship request
Terms and Conditions If the scholarship request is approved, the following terms and conditions will apply: 1. The scholarship covers the Registration Fees1 only for one season in all or in part. 2. Parent or legal guardian agrees to "re-pay" the League through volunteering for Fund Raising, League Functions and Activities (for ex, helping with Opening Day, extra evenings in the Concession Stand, Work Parties, etc) if so requested. 3. The player must meet all residence and proof of age requirements (all required documents must be verified prior to the Evaluation Clinic - refer to the League Calendar for dates) 4. A registration form must be completed in its entirety for the player.
