Date: April 2, 2017 Scripture Passage: Colossians 3:23-24; 1 Corinthians 10:31; Psalm 128:2; Proverbs 20:4; 2 Thessalonians 3:11 Lesson Theme: Work is a gift from God that brings about desired benefits for ourselves and others and is to be done with excellence, as for the Lord. God has given each person unique gifts and abilities, and calls us to use these in specific kinds of work and occupations. Family Discussion Questions: 1) What are some benefits of work? 2) What are specific tasks you have done this past week, either at school or at home? 3) How are some ways you could have glorified God in these tasks? Date: April 9, 2017 Scripture Passage: Isaiah 40:28-30; Exodus 20:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:17; Matthew 11:28 Lesson Theme: God has given us the gifts of sleep, rest, and leisure for the benefit of our bodies and souls to demonstrate our dependence on God, and should encourage us to humbly submit ourselves to His good and sustaining rule. Rest and leisure help us enjoy benefits that we might deepen our thankfulness to Him. True, lasting rest and enjoyment can only be found in Jesus. Family Discussion Questions: 1) What is the difference between sleep, rest, and leisure? 2) Why is having times of sleep, rest, and leisure important? 3) What activities do you find the deepest rest doing? Date: April 16, 2017 Scripture Passage: Luke 12:15-34; Haggai 2:8; 1 Chronicles 29:12; Matthew 6:19; Ecclesiastes 5:10 Lesson Theme: Money and possessions are from God, belong to God, and are under His ultimate authority. Money and possessions are temporary, and will not bring anything lasting so they can be a dangerous snare. Money and possessions are gifts from God meant to be used for kingdom purposes, blessing us and others. Family Discussion Questions: 1) How can you relate to the parable of the rich man? 2) Where are some places you find your treasure? 3) How are earthly treasures a seductive counterfeit for heavenly treasures? Date: April 23, 2017 Scripture Passage: Exodus 20:15-17; James 5:4; Matthew 25:14-18; 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12 Lesson Theme: Economics concerns the production and transfer of goods and services from one party to another for mutual benefit. Economics concept exist by God`s design and should be pursued in a manner that acknowledges and honors God. The Bible recognizes and honors economic concepts and honor transfer of goods for profit, hard work, and productivity, and healthy employee-employer relationships. Family Discussion Questions: 1) What are some secular thoughts about economics and what does the Bible speak toward them? 2) How can you demonstrate a Biblical “open heart” toward those in need? 3) How can you apply biblical economics to your own life? Date: April 30, 2017 Scripture Passage: Romans 8:18-28; Job 2:6-7; John 9:1-3; 2 Corinthians 12:8-10; Psalm 145:9 Lesson Theme: Suffering due to sickness and disease are the consequences of a world that is under God`s curse because of sin. God is sovereign over all suffering and healing and desires to display His glory in and through our suffering. God designs all suffering in a Christian`s life to work for his good.



Family Discussion Questions: 1) When was a time in your life that you questioned God`s goodness? What brought you through it? 2) Why is it hard to submit to God`s rule over suffering and sickness? 3) What are some ways you can give glory to God in the midst of your current or recent sufferings?
