Mill Creek Estates WWTP Improvements Addendum #1 6/20/16 1. We have some concerns with the completion date of January 1, 2017. We have been given 20 weeks for equipment lead time excluding submittal review. Can the completion date be extended? – Completion date revised to February 1, 2017. 2. From bid day, what is the anticipated (and contract allowed) duration until Notice of Award? Notice of Award will occur early to mid-July, with construction start early to mid-August 3. Are details available for the building to be constructed by others? It would be helpful to know materials of construction, ceiling height, etc. Building Details are attached. 4. Plan Sheet C2.0, General Note 14, indicates permits are to secured and paid by the contractor. Plan Sheet E1.0 General Note 7 indicates permits are to be obtained and paid by the electrical contractor. The detailed specifications indicate that the county will have all permits needed for the project paid in hand at the time of award. Please clarify. All permits will be obtained by the county 5. Is soil boring information available for the excavation of the new sanitary sewer showing soil type, rock elevation, groundwater information, etc.? This information is not available, but rock is not expected to be encountered 6. The construction sequence given on Plan Sheet C2.0 indicates that all construction activities including equipment installation and functional start-up are to be completed and placed into “bypass” before the filter building is installed by others. The detailed specifications outline under slab utilities, site work, and concrete work are to be completed and turned over to county forces so the building can be constructed. After building construction we are to return to complete equipment installation, process piping, electrical hookups, etc. Please clarify which is correct. The detailed specs are correct 7. Please clarify whether excavated materials are to remain onsite or hauled off. They are to remain onsite 8. On Plan Sheet M1.0 please provide the following information: a. What are the materials of construction to be for the floor sump? Can a manufacturer/model be provided? 4” PVC drain b. Please specify what type/schedule the 4” PVC sump drain line should be. Schedule 40 c. Please specify what type/schedule the 6” Upflow Clarifier Bypass pipe should be. Schedule 40 9. Can a paint schedule or scope of work be provided? Can a paint specification be provided? Paint provided for potential trip hazard of the pipe. Any exterior grade paint designed for use on PVC will suffice. 10. What are the materials of construction to be for the pipe supports shown on Section B-B on plan Sheet M2.0? Galvanized steel 11. Can construction details be provided for the galvanized stair platform shown on plan sheet M1.0? Details requested include steel member sizes, handrail material
of construction, platform elevations & dimensions, etc. We do not have a specific specification for the stairs at this time. See sheet M2.0 for approximate height of stairs. 12. On plan sheet E1.0 coded notes 1, 2, & 4 indicate wiring and termination at the circuit breaker for the power supply is to be provided by others. All electric aside from the convenience outlets, heater wiring, and lighting to be included in contract 13. No Job trailer required 14. No MBE/WBE required for the contract. 15. The power pole on the south side of the plant that is adjacent to the proposed main will likely need supported during trenching operations 16. Testing of the sand material to be excavated was completed last week, there is no need for testing in the contract. 17. All permits will be obtained by the county. 18. Sheet M1.0 – Proposed 2” Sch 80 backwash pipe to be 3”. Proposed 8” Sch 80 overflow pipe to be 6”.
