What to expect this season

MILLENNIUM FC

Welcome back!

All of us at Millennium FC are looking forward to an exciting fall season! A few reminders: Register: Don’t forget to register on the Millennium FC Website!

Fees: Tournament Fees are due by September 1, 2015. You can pay online by signing into your account. Code of Conduct: Players and parents are expected to sign the Code of Conduct Agreement. See your team manager if you have not yet signed a copy. Coaches also have a code of conduct. Practice: Players are expected to come ready at practice with shin guards, an inflated ball, practice shirt, proper cleats and water.

We spend a great deal of time evaluating all players and try to develop methods to help them succeed. While it is a challenge to personalize training for each player, we will work on areas that will help the team succeed by joining forces with all coaches and utilizing the skills each one has. This is a competitive club; there will not always be equal playing time. As the numbers continue to grow, coaches are forced to make difficult decisions regarding players and playing time.

U9 Girls - Freddie Cornejo I love soccer because: “It runs deep in my veins.” This fall season I’m looking forward to: “Watching the girls become a team.” U10 Boys - Wade Rippeon I love soccer because: “My daughter loves soccer” A fun fact about me: “I am a kid at heart and a big Star Wars fan.” U11 Girls- Fernando Cornejo I love soccer because: “For me, there is no other sport that can make me feel like it does.” Fun fact: “I am not sure that many of my players know that I am an artist. I have been painting professionally for 19 years.” U11 Boys- Jeremy Maubach I enjoy coaching because: “I want to share my knowledge of soccer with anyone who wants to listen. “ Fun fact: “I’m a loan officer by day.” U12 Girls- Mike Churchey I love soccer because: “I have played my whole life and now I am able to pass the game on to my girls.” Fun fact: “Growing up people called me church mouse because I was so small.” U13 Boys - Luis Cornejo Kids call me: Coach I enjoy coaching because: “It is a different stress level but a very gratifying one when you can just spend time outside with kids and not have to worry about anything else but playing soccer.” U14 Girls - Art Cornejo I enjoy coaching because: “I believe a coach can be a very positive influence in a young person's life. I stress teamwork, responsibility, initiative, discipline, and a strong work ethic. Each player on the team is an essential part of the team and is my responsibility to nurture this in order to build a strong team.” High School Girls - David Herrera I love soccer because: “Soccer players are very smart and the game has so much to watch. Not only the goals, but the passing before the goals, the defense and the ability for players to make quick decisions. I love watching each player decide what to do in an instant.”

August 2015 Church Rules As a reminder, we are renting our fields from the church. Please show respect when at our fields, and abide by the following church rules: Players and families should not go into the neighbor yards or play next to the trees. No parking in grass or on the driveway. The driveway should only be used to pick up or drop off players, not as a permanent parking spot. In addition, the field should not be used out of practice times and club events. We (MFC) are liable for any accidents that occur on these fields, especially around soccer goals. We also request that players do NOT hang on the goals. Help Wanted As a club we rely on help from our families. We need individuals to help maintain our fields by mowing and lining the fields. Experience is not necessary. If interested, please contact our Field Maintenance Coordinator Roberto Lopez at (309) 287-5583 or [email protected].

We’d like to thank our sponsors! If you are interested in sponsoring Millennium FC, email info@millenniumfc for more information.
