The Garden Conservancy's
OPEN DAYS PROGRAM
Milwaukee Area Open Day
Saturday, August 6 | 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
We are proud to partner with the Boerner Botanical Gardens to bring you this Open Day. MILWAUKEE COUNTY RIVER HILLS GREEN FIRE WOODS Park at St. Christopher’s Church, 7845 North River Road, River Hills. A shuttle will be provided to the garden. My goal has always been two fold, first to provide healthy food for my family and secondly to proved a safe haven for native plants in the forest and field areas. The vegetable garden has always been organic and now I am working on converting to bio-dynamic. The natural areas are managed to preserve the woodland ephemerals and prairie natives. Our fence provides a sanctuary from the deer.

Plant sale by Monches Farm Ramhorn Farm, home to the owners of Monches Farm, consists of 130 acres in Ozaukee County, Wisconsin with natural woodlands, wetlands, creeks, ponds and thirty-five acres of tillable land, of which we took fifteen acres to recreate a native prairie. We preserve our farm through the Washington/ Ozaukee County Land Trust. Over the last ten years we have moved and restored eight historic structures of half timber and log construction on our property to create this historic European looking farmstead. Our house is of half-timber construction and consists of three different historic Wisconsin structures that where originally build by German immigrants in the 1840s. We have moved and restored them to create what is now Ramhorn Farm. Many of the interior historic components were brought from Europe such as 1700s doors, floors, windows, fireplaces and furnishings. Our gardens include a fenced in garden with edible plants, herbs, vegetables, and flowering plants as well as a young orchard, areas for fruits, berries and naturalistic gardens with native and
