the small, practical city car of Sir Alec Issigonis into a real rally racer. Following its successful performance at the legendary Monte Carlo rally, the John Cooper Mini grew in popularity all over the world and its sporting genes can still be seen in the John Cooper Works models of today. The 1.6 litre twin-scroll turbocharged engine delivers an impressive 218hp and propels the MINI Paceman from 0 to 100km/h in just 6.9 seconds with a top speed of 224 km/h. Speed is matched with an equally enviable growl that is delivered from the standard fitted sports exhaust system. The MINI John Cooper Works Paceman is also fitted with the ALL4 all-wheel-drive system, which allows the driver to switch from automatic to manual at the touch of a button, to get the ultimate driving experience. This hot-hatch balances performance with design. It immediately catches the eye with its expressive coupé body shape, while the 18-inch light-alloy wheels in twin spoke black burnished design sit high in the wide wheel arches. Its muscular shoulder lines are further accentuated by the two long coupé doors.

Specifications

The sports steering wheel with the John Cooper Works logo is wrapped with red contrast stitching and paired with an equally stylish gear shift lever with a red shift pattern and floor mats with red stitching. As an added option, customers can chose ‘Carbon Black’ or ‘Championship Red’ lounge leather sports seats. The racing inspired aura is topped off with the classy ‘Piano Black’ interior trim. The John Cooper Works Paceman certainly pays homage to the legendary John Cooper name. It is exciting to drive, with fantastic handling and plenty of guts. The added headroom of the Paceman model also make the ride a lot more comfortable with a roomier cabin. This snappy little terrier will turn a few heads with its sporty design too, and it may take a few traffic light dragsters by surprise. All round it’s a fantastic hot hatch and strong contender against the likes of the Golf R, but it comes with a hefty price tag too–although some will argue that money can’t buy style and the MINI retains its street cred in buckets. All models of the MINI Paceman range are now available from AGMC and Abu Dhabi Motors showrooms across the UAE.
