4. ELECTION OF OFFICERS AND COMMITTEE MEMBERS It was confirmed that Sue H and Tina will be stepping down as Chair and Secretary and from the committee. Rob Essex is to continue as Treasurer. Liz Chubb is to continue as school representative. All other existing members happy to continue on the committee. Volunteers were sought to fill the Chair and Secretary roles but no one was forthcoming. There was some discussion regarding the way forward for the committee. For the committee to continue, there must be volunteers for the key roles. An action plan was put together to encourage new parents to become involved, especially as it was pointed out that most of the committee have daughters in year 10, so will all be leaving at the same time. Action Plan Email to parents emphasising that the AHSA requires support and more members. Emphasise the social side of the events that are organised - for members and for the girls; that it’s not just about raising money. Refer to event teams and encourage parents to join the volunteer bank. Emphasise that events like the prom will not happen if the committee does not receive more support. Include testimonials. Include support from Mr Rosen. Design and print a flyer to target parents attending the GNO – sleek and pithy. Sue H – to email volunteer list to see if they are interested in joining committee. Arrange an Extraordinary General Meeting before Christmas in a social setting – in canteen, Wednesday 2nd December @ 7.30pm – invite any interested parents to attend. Arrange refreshments – t/c, mince pies, and biscuits. Sign parents up to help at future events so they are ‘hooked’. “Planning for the Year Ahead” Sue H to continue as signatory for cheques for the moment. Sue H and Tina to attend the EGM. Alan Rosen expressed his thanks to the committee and to those departing, confirming that the AHSA is appreciated and that it is worthwhile. Liz Chubb thanked Sue H for her hard work and support for the committee and the school. Sue H thanked Tina for her contribution. 5. AOB No one had anything else to add.
