Make It Happen! Mark 6:30-44 (The Feeding of the 5,000): “They all ate and were satisfied…”
The United Methodist Women (UMW) Mission u summer and fall events are wonderful opportunities to study current issues impacting society based on recent mission study topics. Whether you are young or old, laity or clergy, a UMW member or not, a first timer or attend every year, you are invited.
ALL PARTICIPATE —
Spiritual Growth Study: HOW IS IT WITH YOUR SOUL?* The study seeks to discuss Biblical texts; Wesley and the early Methodists; faithful women, past and present; and spiritual practices. Four verbs: PRAY, LEARN, MENTOR, and TRANSFORM, will frame the study and move participants in a trajectory from the individual to the church to the world. We will reflect on our own responses in our daily spiritual walk. *The Spiritual Growth Study will also be offered in Spanish and Korean at Fall Mission u.
YOUTH AND CHILDREN STUDY — WELCOMING PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES These studies use the symbol of a jigsaw puzzle as a basis for exploring disabilities. No two pieces are the same, but they all fit together. In God’s kingdom, everyone has a place. We come together as God’s children, gaining a new perspective and increased understanding.

REGISTRATION
OPTION 1:
Registration forms may be found online at www.iaumc.org/Missionu. Completed forms are due June 13 for the summer event and September 17 for fall. Registra tion costs include all meals except breakfast.
Geographic Study: T HE R OMA OF EUROPE The Roma are often called "gypsies" by others. They are the single largest minority group in Europe. Over the years, the Roma have been enslaved, shut out, shunned, and even shot. They have been labeled as thieves, beggars, and fortune tellers. This study will introduce us to the Roma, including their history, lifestyle, and spirituality. It will be an eye-opening journey that will, hopefully, offer a greater understanding of the Roma and opportunities for response and advocacy.
OPTION 2:
Social Issue Study: THE CHURCH & PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
The Church is incomplete unless the gifts of all are nurtured and put to use. In this study, we will examine Biblical perspectives and personal stories, including the needs of veterans and challenges faced by ministers with disabilities. Raise your awareness through discussion of attitudinal and architectural barriers encountered by people with disabilities. Get practical ideas for accessibility measures for your local church. Your heart will be touched and prepared for action. PLEASE NOTE: All studies subject to change.
