Last year we had the opportunity to serve 273 clients and show the love of Christ to each one. One encouraging story I thought I could share with you is about a young lady we shall call Meagan. Meagan came to us shortly after learning she and her boyfriend were pregnant. There were many things racing though her mind and she felt alone and overwhelmed with the burden of everyone’s opinion about her situation. Meagan’s boyfriend told her that she had to choose between him and the pregnancy as he was not prepared to be a Dad. On top of the unintended pregnancy, Meagan had recently learned that her Mom had been diagnoses with terminal cancer. Meagan really wasn’t sure if she could handle the loss of her relationship with her boyfriend on top of the impending loss of her Mom. We had an opportunity to provide a place for Meagan, to quiet all the voices and talk through all her options. Ultimately, Meagan decided that she did not have a peace about terminat-
ing the pregnancy. She decided to break things off with her boyfriend and parent the baby. Shortly after, Meagan’s Mom also passed away. We had the opportunity to offer Meagan emotional support around the loss of her relationship with her boyfriend as well as the loss of her Mom. We were also able to bless Meagan with many practical supports in preparing for baby— things like maternity wear, childbirth education classes and helping her gather clothing and baby care items from our Helps Room. Meagan had a beautiful baby girl and named her after her Mom. It has been so incredible to watch her transition into Motherhood and see her little girl so loved. Just the other day Meagan mentioned how blessed she feels to be a Mom and how much joy she finds in caring for her daughter. It is a beautiful thing to see these little ones come into the world and to watch clients like Meagan being shaped by motherhood. Stories like this are made possible by your support of this ministry for which we are so thankful for.!
