The Mississippi Conference Licensing School is administered by the Center for Ministry under the direction of the Conference Board of Ordained Ministry. The Center is a collaborative ministry of the Mississippi Annual Conference and Millsaps College. The school is designed to provide the basic educational and formational experience for persons preparing to serve as pastors of congregations. Licenses are presented at Annual Conference to those who have completed the school and are receiving an appointment.
All persons not ordained as elder who are appointed to preach and conduct divine worship and perform the duties of a pastor shall have a license for pastoral ministry.”

Enrollment Requirements: Approval as a Certified Candidate for ministry by your local church Charge Conference and the District Committee on Ordained Ministry. Permission from the District Superintendent. (Please note that the Registration Form must include your District Superintendent’s signature.) School Format: 10 weekends (Friday evening through Saturday afternoon) Beginning in January and ending in May (see next page for schedule) Sessions held either at Millsaps College or a Jackson-area church

Expectations: Attendance at all sessions; completion of assigned homework; class participation. Absences will be made up the next year Cost: Tuition--$100 (covers the entire 10 weekends) Books Travel and housing, if needed. The Center for Ministry arranges reduced rate at the Cabot Lodge Millsaps ($40 per night/double; $80 per night/single)

Requirements for Registration A deposit of $50 is due with this registration form, with the $50 balance due at the first class in January. Lodging payments are due upon arrival each weekend.
