• Work Exempt From Permit (MR 1300.0120 Subp. 4)
2015 MN State Residential Code purpose:
Fences not over 7’ high
Retaining walls not over 4’ high
• To protect and promote the public health, safety, and general welfare. • By fair, understandable, rational, reasonable, and legitimate means. • By verifying that the work and materials being used are in compliance with the building code or its equivalent. 3

Zoning Code will dictate which side faces out.
Decks & platforms not over 30” above adjacent grade.

• Noise ordinance provisions for construction activities. Weekends and holidays may be different.
