(1) Excavator weight recommendation is based on standard excavator weights and boom and/or arm lengths. All applications must be approved by Stanley LaBounty prior to sale. (2) Attachment weight can vary depending upon mounting bracket, appropriate cylinder required to maximize base machine operating pressures and any options installed on the shear. (3) Reach figures indicate the typical distance from the boom tip of the base machine to the tip of the shear. For non-rotating models, reach for a typical bottom and back mounting bracket is listed. Actual reach may vary depending on the bracket needed for the base machine. Total reach may be substantially increased by mounting the attachment in place of the bucket on a large base machine. Stanley LaBounty sales staff can assist in determining reach for specific applications. (4) Speed valves are offered for the MSD 30 - 175R only. NOTE: Weights, dimensions and operating specifications listed on this sheet are subject to change without notice. Where specifications are critical to your application, please consult Stanley LaBounty. Other special application shear models are made to order for extra heavy cutting applications.

MSD Series IIIsv Mobile Shears have many features which maximize performance and longevity, and significantly reduce the amount of time required for maintenance. These features include: 1. Higher strength, higher abrasion resistant steels used in both upper and lower jaws. 50% stronger than comparable T-1 steel used in previous models. Less build-up and hardfacing required means less downtime. 2. Patented, spool type speed valve for faster cycle times. Reduces cycle times by approximately 1/3. Spool type valves have proven themselves to be much more reliable and fool proof than cartridge types. 3. Reversed cylinder/reduced shroud height means better visibility and less weight. Five bolts hold piston to rod (versus one large nut / threaded rod) for easier serviceability. P/N L1010 V-1 7/00

WARRANTY

The items listed below are available for all MSD Mobile Shears • Internal Hydraulic Rotation Kit (factory installed inside rotation head) • External Hydraulic Rotation Kit (dealer or end-user installed on excavator) • Magnet Lifting Eye

Warranty. LaBounty® MSD Mobile Shears carry a limited warranty against defects in material and workmanship for 12 months or 1,500 hours from the date of purchase. Stanley LaBounty reserves the right to repair or replace only those parts which prove to have been defective at the time of purchase.

• Cable Hanging Lugs • 3rd Member to 2nd Member Adapter Brackets available • At-Factory Upgrade and Rebuilding Services • Attachment’s Bracket/Lugs can be customized to fit other manufacturer’s quick attach systems (3rd member mount)

Ask your dealer to explain this warranty in detail.

• Rear Mount Bracket (provided excavator has sufficient lifting capacity; non-rotating models)

MSD Shear Operation WEAR PLATE (FAR SIDE)

4. Larger and stronger rotation components than previous models (R Models). 5. Patented Wear Parts System: a. Better blade design provides easier, faster and safer maintenance. Nose blade is keyed to prevent jamming and make removal fast and easy.

PIERCING TIP SECONDARY BLADES GUIDE BLADE

b. Increased surface areas on cutting blades, guide blade, and upper wear plate provide better wear and require less maintenance. c. 4-way indexable, rhomboid cutting blades allow for all 4 cutting edges to be used. Complete blade coverage in the apex area reduces maintenance in this critical area. 6. Solid bearing in both ends of shear for longer life.

LaBounty® Mobile Shear controls will vary with the type of base machine on which the shear is mounted and depending on whether it is mounted as a second or third member. Both Rotating and Non-Rotating Shears require a full-flow, full-pressure hydraulic circuit to operate the jaw open and close function. In some cases, dual pump flow to reduce the cycle time may be recommended. Rotating shears require an additional circuit for rotation function. Stanley LaBounty offers two rotation kits, one which is factory installed in the attachment and one which is dealer or end-user installed on the excavator.. Please consult Stanley LaBounty Inside Sales Department for more information on these options. MSD-IIIsv Shear Applications LaBounty® MSD-IIIsv Mobile Shears are specifically designed for scrap processing, demolition work, and road and bridge reconstruction. Mobile Shears can cut a variety of materials including H- and Ibeams and other structural steel, railcars, plate, tanks, pipe, round stock, wire, rebar, concrete, brick or block, plus many nonferrous metals as well.
