RULE ONE: THE GAME, FIELD, PLAYERS Section One: General Provisions A. Eligibility a. This activity will be conducted according to standard eligibility rules as set forth in the current LSU University Recreation’s Intramural Sports Participant Handbook. b. Participants must be listed on their respective team rosters prior to participating and an LSU Tiger Card must be shown prior to entering a contest. c. The participation by an ineligible player will subject the offending team to forfeiture of the contest in which the ineligible player participated, and possible removal from the leagues. B. Players a. The game shall be played between individual participants b. If a team is not represented, the respective team will forfeit the game with a score of 1 to 0. c. Team representatives (players, substitutes, coaches, trainers, and other persons affiliated with the team) are subject to the rules of the game. All patrons are under the jurisdiction of the Intramural Sports Staff from their moment of arrival to their time of departure. C. Inclement Weather a. The decision to play scheduled games threatened by bad weather or wet playing areas will be made at 3:00 pm on that day. b. Players should call the Rain Hotline (225) 578-7246 (LSU-RAIN) to obtain information regarding the status of the games for that day. c. If the event is canceled due to inclement weather, Intramural Sports will attempt to reschedule the event if possible. D. Sportsmanship Rating a. The Intramural Sports Program expects all participants to conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner. In order to be eligible to win, the individual competing must have a 2.5 or higher sportsmanship rating. Following the event, the Intramural Sports Staff will evaluate and issue sportsmanship points to all individuals. The breakdown of points is as follows: 4 (Normal Game) A sportsmanship of 4 will be given for a normal contest. Teams, spectators, and affiliates were all respectful and courteous towards the opposition and/or all UREC staff. Defaulted games will result in both teams gaining a 4 in sportsmanship for that contest. 3 (Some Static) A sportsmanship of 3 will be given for a contest with moments of questionable activity. In this instance, players and spectators may not always be respectful and courteous towards the opposition and/or all UREC staff. 2 (Difficulty) A sportsmanship of 2 reflects a situation where a team explicitly displays actions that are deemed to be unsportsmanlike or unfitting of the game. The team and spectators have many moments of questionable activity and show little respect and courtesy towards the opposition and/or all UREC staff. Forfeited (nonappearance) games will result in the offending team gaining a 2 in sportsmanship for that contest. 1 (Harassment) A sportsmanship of 1 reflects a team who had little to no control over team members and spectators. The team constantly showcased questionable activity and showed no respect for the opposition and/or all UREC staff. The ejection of a player will result in that player’s team gaining a maximum of 1 in sportsmanship for that contest. Teams with multiple unsportsmanlike penalties/actions will receive a maximum of 1 in sportsmanship for that contest.
Mock NFL Combine Intramural Sports 0 (Unacceptable) A sportsmanship of 0 reflects activity that is completely unacceptable for any Intramural Sports participant(s). Teams exhibit blatant actions of disrespect towards the opposition and/or all UREC staff. Teams that permit the participation of an ineligible player (for any reason) will receive a 0 in sportsmanship for that contest. Teams with three unsportsmanlike penalties/actions will receive a 0 in sportsmanship for that contest. Section Two: Field A. The Playing Area a. Each event will take place at the UREC Field Complex Fields at River Road. Section Three: Equipment A. Players a. Cleats of soft or hard rubber, metal spikes, or screw-ins shall not be allowed. i. All shoes must be closed toe and have a non-marking sole. b. Players must remove all jewelry prior to participation, including (but not limited to) piercings, watches, necklaces, and bracelets. c. Protective equipment may be worn by any player at all times. However, it must be worn properly. Padding must cover splints, braces, and/or casts. d. The Intramural Sports staff may prohibit the use of any type of protective equipment that presents considerable risk to the safety of other players. e. The Intramural Sports staff may prohibit the use of any equipment that may perceptibly affect the game, compromise the safety of participants or fans, or enhance a player’s performance. f. Equipment that includes computers, electric components, or mechanical devices shall be declared illegal. g. Athletic attire is required. RULE TWO: EVENTS Section One: Vertical Jump A. Test a. Participants will position feet shoulder width apart with toes directly underneath the vanes. b. Participants will perform a quick counter-jump and leap as high as possible, slapping the highest possible point within reach. B. Results a. The difference between the highest height reached and their setup height will be the final result. b. Participants have three attempts. The best attempt will be the final result. C. Tips a. Shuffling of the feet is not allowed during jump. Once feet are set they may not move forward or backwards until after the jump has been performed. b. Smooth and efficient arm swings can assist with a better attempt.
Section Two: Broad Jump A. Test a. Participants will step up to the line with toes behind the line and feet about shoulder width apart. b. Participants will perform a quick counter jump and leap as far forward as possible. c. Participant’s feet should land shoulder width a part at the same time and not moving.
Mock NFL Combine Intramural Sports B. Results a. Measurements will be taken from the participant’s back heel that is closest to the start line. b. Participants have three attempts. The best attempt will be the final result. C. Tips a. The participant must “stick” the landing by not moving their foot position once they hit the ground. b. Participants cannot step backwards or forwards once they make contact with the ground. c. It is allowed to land and fall forward onto the hands, however, participant must roll back onto their heels without the foot shuffling or sliding out of position. d. Smooth and efficient arm swings at the start can assist with a better attempt. Section Three: 20 Yard Shuttle Drill *See Figure at End of Document for Set-Up*
A. Test a. Participants will sprint to either side and touch five (5)-yard line with hand i. The participant can start in either direction. b. Participants will turn and sprint ten (10) yards to the furthest cone and touch the line with hand. c. Participants will then turn back and sprint through the middle cone. B. Results a. Leaning or having the body turned a direction other than towards the front cone on the start will not be allowed. b. Time will start on the participant’s first movement and will end when their body crosses the finish line. c. Participants will have three attempts. The fastest time will be the final result. C. Tips a. Begin in a square two (2)-point stance and stay low when making the turns. b. When turning, always face towards the cone. Do not make both of the turns to the right or both to the left. One will be to the right and the other to the left (facing cones).
Section Four: L- Drill *See Figure at End of Document for Set-Up* A. Test a. Participant’s body must start behind the start line. Only the head is allowed to lean over the line. b. Participants will sprint to the five (5)-yard line and touch floor marker with hand. c. Participants will run back to the start line and touch floor marker with hand. d. Participants will then run back to the five (5)-yard line and turn left around the cone towards the second (2nd ) five (5)-yard cone. e. Participants will then loop around the cone from the inside and turn back to the first (1st ) five (5)-yard cone. f. Finally, participants will turn right around the cone and finish across the start line.
Mock NFL Combine Intramural Sports B. Results a. Time will start on the participant’s first movement from the start line and will finish when the head crosses the finish line. b. Participant has three attempts. The fastest time will be the final result. C. Tips a. Any start stance is allowed, however, three (3)-point stance is highly recommended with hand behind the line. b. Stay low and BE SURE the hand touches all floor markers. c. Section Five: 40 Yard Dash *See Figure at End of Document for Set-Up* A. Test a. Participants will sprint forty (40) yards in one straight line. b. Participants will start in a three (3) or two (2)-point stance with hand on and up to the front of the start line. The head is allowed to hand over the line. c. Participant must hold the start position for one (1) second before beginning the sprint. B. Results a. Time will start on the participant’s first body movement. b. Time will stop when the first body part crosses the finish line. c. Participants will have only two attempts. The fastest time will be the final result. C. Tips a. Stay low coming off of the start line. b. Arm movement should be forward and not side to side. c. Stay light on the toes. RULE THREE: PROTESTS Section One: Protests A. Types a. Illegal player or players. The protest must be made while the players are still in the game and before the officials leave the playing field. b. Ineligible player. The protest must be made within 24 hours of the end of the game. The Intramural Sports staff will rule on the protest. B. Procedures a. Team captains must initiate protests. The Intramural Sports staff on site, including officials and supervisors will determine the next action to take place.
