Model United Nations Conference @Conestoga Valley Middle School July 8 & 10 or July 15 & 17 from 9am-3pm
For current 6th – 8th Grade Students This is a two day workshop for middle school students. On the first day, students will be trained in debate skills, parliamentary procedures, the functions of the United Nations, and the concepts in the Millennium Development Goals. On the second day, students will serve as delegates at a model United Nations conference simulating the General Assembly. They will engage in debate on international development issues such as the millennium development goals, environmentally sustainable business models, education, health care systems, globalization, etc. The cost is $75 for the two day workshop*. Students can attend the workshop during either Week #1 (July 8 & 10) or Week #2 (July 15 & 17)—not both. All proceeds benefit the CV Model UN Team. ** Students will be enrolled for the workshop based on preferences listed above, taking into account the order in which registrations were received and the goal of balancing out the number of enrolled students for each of the two weeks.
