CONNECTING AND ACTIVATING STEP 1: Connecting to the telephone jack
• Locate the black cable with grey plug (ADSL). • Plug the clear end of the cable into the ADSL side of the filter. • Plug the grey end of the cable into the ADSL port.

STEP 2: Connecting to your computer
• Locate the yellow cable (LAN, RJ-45). • Plug one end of the yellow cable into the network card on the back of your computer. • Plug the other end of the yellow cable into the LAN1 port.

STEP 3: Connecting to the mains power supply
Mains adapter • Locate the mains adapter cable. • Plug the small end of mains adapter cable into the PWR socket on the back of the modem. • Plug the adapter end of the cable into the wall socket. • Switch power on.

STEP 4: Launching the User Interface • Start your web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox etc) and enter the IP address into the address bar as it appears below.
• Login screen appears. • Type in the password and click OK (the default password is ‘admin’).

STEP 5: Basic Setup Wizard • Select the Basic Setup Wizard option on the start screen to begin configuring your modem. The Basic Setup Wizard will guide you step-by-step through the general configuration of the Orcon Homehub router. Connection to the Internet is established via the Orcon Homehub for all PCs connected to the network.

STEP 6: Regional options You can select your present location for the regional settings on this screen. • Select New Zealand from the list of countries provided. You can set the time so that it automatically switches to summer time and/or another time zone of your choice. • Click Next >. NOTE: The ADSL parameters and the selection of Internet service providers will be set automatically on the following screens according to the country you choose.

STEP 7: Configuring internet connections Please follow the instructions to perform the initial configuration of your internet connection on this screen. • If you can’t find Orcon in the Service Provider field, select Other. • Enter your Orcon Username (e.g.
[email protected]) and password. • Leave the rest of the settings at their default. • Click Test Settings to check the Internet connection. If successful, this will bring up another window which you can then close. If unsuccessful, please re-check all the information is correct and try again. • Click Next >.

STEP 8: Telephony • End users are unable to edit VOIP settings directly. We update these remotely from Orcon HQ. So simply click Next > to proceed.

STEP 9: WPS registration Because the wireless broadcast is currently turned off you are unable to use the WPS registration functionality. If you wish to set up the wireless connection on your Homehub see the ‘Wireless Setup Guide’ which was included with your Homehub. • Click Next >.

STEP 10: Summary The basic settings you have made through the wizard are shown in the next step for you to check. • If you want to change the settings, click < Back. • If you want to confirm the settings, click Finish to close the Basic Setup Wizard. The Orcon Homehub is now configured and ready to connect to the Internet. Once you click Finish, the Security Setup Wizard will open automatically. We strongly recommend using the Security Setup Wizard to protect your Orcon Homehub against attacks. If you want to carry this out at a later stage, un-tick I would like to run the Security Setup Wizard now. If you would like to set up your Wireless connection now leave the Security Setup Wizard checkbox ticked and follow the instructions in the ‘Wireless Setup Guide’ that was included with your Homehub.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS • Connect the cable to the designated port only and only use authorised cables and accessories. • Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Harsh cleaning agents or solvents are not suitable. • Protect the device from moisture, dust, aggressive liquids and vapors and do not use it in damp places (e. g. bath) or in explosive areas. • Never open the device or plug-in power supply. The device may only be opened by authorised specialist staff for safety reasons. • The router may affect medical equipment. Be aware of the conditions of your environment. • Make sure you include these operating instructions when you pass on your router to someone else. • The ethernet and FXS function are only intended for one line within a building. All electrical and electronic products should be disposed of separately from the municipal waste stream via designated collection facilities appointed by the government or the local authorities. This crossed-out wheeled bin symbol on the product means the product is covered by the European Directive 2002/96/EC. The correct disposal and separate collection of your old appliance will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health. It is a precondition for reuse and recycling of used electrical and electronic equipment. For more detailed information about disposal of your old appliance, please contact your local council refuse centre or the original supplier of the product.
