MOHAWKS SELECT LACROSSE PROGRAM The Select League is the competitive program that MBYLL & MBGLL has developed for players that have a true interest in playing lacrosse at a higher level. This program is highly competitive, wins and losses are tracked, teams are ranked, and there is a championship playoff format at the end of the season. Leominster Youth Lacrosse along with The North Central Sting and the Nashoba Girls Youth Lacrosse program will field one team at the U15 & U13 level from our combined Boys Group and one team at the U15 & U13 from our combined Girls group.
MOHAWK SELECT TRYOUTS Tryouts will be held at the Clark YMCA, Saturday March 18th and again on Tuesday March 21st.
For our Boys U15 & U13 teams. Saturday March 18th as follows 4pm to 5pm U13 Boys 5pm to 6pm U15 Boys Tuesday March 21st as follows 7 to 8pm U13 Boys 8 to 9pm U15 Boys
For our Girls U15 and U13 teams. Saturday March 18th 6 to 7pm for ALL GIRLS Tuesday March 21st 6 to 7pm ALL GIRLS U11 players are welcome to try out for the U13 teams, but keep in mind we will be selecting the best players. We will select 18 full time players and if it makes sense up to 4 alternate players at the U15B, U13B and U15G, U13G levels. Teams will be picked by a selection committee made up of 3rd Party coaches. Players need to come to the tryout ready to play. Please arrive early dressed in full equipment and ready to go since we only have a short time to evaluate the players. We will start the tryouts at the exact time documented. You must register when you arrive and be issued a pinny. Plan your arrival time accordingly so you have enough time to register. . It is recommended that our players try out both days. We will take the highest tryout score between the two sessions. If you only tryout once, then the single session score will be used.
There will be additional costs for this program: A $5.00 tryout fee will be charged for each session. This fee is to cover the cost of the CLARK rental. Players who are selected for the team, will be responsible for an additional fee for the season. We are expecting to be close to $160.00 (plus uniform) for the Boys, and $120.00 (plus uniform) for the Girls. Mohawk Uniforms will be required and if you have one from last year you can reuse it. The fee will cover the costs associated with all home games, league fees, coach certifications, referees & score keepers. There are also expectations that must be met to play in the Select League. We expect that those players trying out for the Select program will be committed to lacrosse as their primary Spring sport. The Select players must make it to all the Classic program commitments in addition to the extra Select practice and game. You must participate in your Classic game the prior Sunday to be eligible to play in your select game the following weekend.
