HelP

is available with a Scholarship Grant from The McFarland Fund!

Scholarship Information McFarland Fund Scholarships of varying amounts are granted to deserving high school seniors or college students up to thirty years of age who are permanent residents of either Parker or Tarrant County and need financial help to attain their educational goals. Scholarships are awarded for a specific educational purpose for a specific time period of one year. They are granted for study or training at an accredited college or trade school in Texas unless the education or training sought cannot be obtained in the State. An applicant desiring to attend a school outside the State of Texas must clearly show the proposed course of study is not available at a Texas school.

I

Applicant Information Applicants are considered on the basis of good character regardless of race or religion. Seriousness of purpose, willingness to work, and the ability to complete the proposed course of study or training must be demonstrated. An applicant must be a citizen of the United States at the time of applying and must be a resident of either Parker or Tarrant County for at least a year. Establishment of residence in the county for the purpose of attending school does not meet the residence requirement. A recipient who has successfully completed an academic year or a portion of his chosen course of study may reapply for another scholarship grant the next year in order to continue his education with the understanding that his academic achievement or progress in a vocational training program will be reviewed at regular intervals. No limitations are imposed on the applicant’s right to apply for and receive scholarships and financial aid from other sources, but an applicant must disclose the receipt of such other assistance as one indicator of financial need.
