MONMOUTH DIOCESAN OFFICE, NEWPORT JOB DESCRIPTION: ADMINISTRATOR The Monmouth Diocese is part of the Church in Wales. The Church in Wales, Monmouth Diocese has over 150 churches, 4000 regular worshippers and employs approximately 90 staff (clergy and lay officers). The Diocesan Office in Newport, with 10 members of staff, handles the administration, financial and central resources for the Diocese. POSITION & REMUNERATION Job Title:

Part-Time Administrator (Initially Fixed Term for 2 months)

Location:

The Diocesan Office, 64 Caerau Road, Newport

Hours:

27.5 hours per week (9.30 am to 3.30 pm with 30 minutes for lunch)

Salary:

£13,378 (actual, based on a FTE of £18,000)

Annual leave: Based on FTE of 25 days p.a. Reports to:

Diocesan Secretary

Two months TASKS FOR ADMINISTRATOR

           

To carry out front of house tasks (dealing with post, meeting, greeting, answering phone, signposting callers) Provide general administrative support to the Diocesan Secretary, Senior Diocesan Officers and Care of Churches Officers To make amendments to the Church in Wales database & generate reports Collate statistical information on deaneries, parishes, average Sunday attendances etc. To produce and update a variety of documents including spreadsheets, reports, leaflets and letters Order and maintain stationery supplies and other office items To attend Diocesan Committee meetings to take minutes and follow up action points To contribute to a variety of Diocesan Communications To assist with the production and coordination of mailings To respond to queries for information from parishioners, clergy and Diocesan Officers To assist in organising Diocesan Conferences, external meetings and workshops across the Diocese (in conjunction with Senior Officers) Update newsletter delivery contacts database and support collation and distribution PERSON SPECIFICATION

     

At least 3 years’ experience of office work and supporting a team Good literacy and numeracy skills Able to take minutes and produce a variety of documents to a high standard IT proficient, in particular Word, Excel, Outlook. Experience of working with databases Well organised with a good eye for detail

   

Good communication skills with experience of writing letters, emails and reports Able to work on own initiative Team player, courteous and able to work independently Sympathetic to the culture and mission of the Church in Wales
