FROM THE PINE: (24-54 overall, 6-44 at MSU, 1-29 BSC): Head coach Sara Schaub has already put her thumb-print on the Montana State volleyball program. In only one season, she has made improvements off the court, as the Bobcats won the athletic department’s A.L.L. award for the best overall performance in academics and service. The 2008 Bobcat squad also captured the Allison Award for most improved grade-point average within the Montana State Athletic Department. In addition, Schaub played an instrumental role as the Shroyer Gym floor now boasts a new look instead of the old ‘Sport Court’ surface of the past ten seasons. And, still on her radar is a move up the Big Sky Conference ladder. Despite taking baby steps last fall, the Bobcats are poised to take a giant step this year. Previously, Schaub served one season at MSU Billings, where she guided the Yellowjackets to an 18-10 overall mark and a fifth place finish in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. MSU Billings ranked as high as ninth in the NCAA Division II Pacific Region. Bobcat Coaching History: Prior to Billings, she served five seasons as Head coach Sara Schaub is the an assistant coach at her alma mater- Easteighth mentor in the history of Bobcat volleyball. She also holds a master’s of science degree in accounting, graduating magna cum laude from EMU in 2001.
