‘Thank you, legs, for getting me through’ told her it was her best dance to date. And after the show, Laura tweeted a picture of her legs wrapped in bandages with the caption: ‘Thank you legs for getting me through that and Giovanni for being the best teacher.’ On the show, Judge Bruno Tonioli said she ‘did enough to lead him to damnation’ and she ‘had the look of a winner’.

By Laura Colgan And Len Goodman told her the tango was ‘sharp, full of passion, there was great chemistry between the two of you, and it was your best dance so far’. Laura said she had been devastated after missing last week’s show and pushed through pain in rehearsals to perfect her terrifying tango. She certainly looked the part, dressed in a full-length black gown with cobwebs in her hair as she danced to the Rolling Stones’ Paint It Black. However, the injury she sustained last week was still apparent as she wore flat shoes and an ankle support. She also took a back seat in the group dance, remaining seated alongside politician Ed Balls for most of it. The presenter tweeted during the week about resting her ankle and applying tiger balm in a bid to make sure she was ready to return to the dance floor. The Strictly Come Dancing results show takes place on BBC One at 7.15pm tonight.

Besieged Hillary’s lead plummets in latest poll DARK DAY: Clinton in New York yesterday

HILLARY Clinton’s White House hopes were last night ebbing away as her lead over Donald Trump was cut to just two points in the latest poll – which was taken before the new FBI probe into the Democratic candidate. The investigation looks certain to further damage her bid to become president. The latest blow for her campaign comes barely a week after she had enjoyed a double-digit lead. Now Friday’s decision by FBI director James Comey to release details of new emails connected to

US ELECTION From Caroline Graham in Los Angeles Mrs Clinton threatens to derail her campaign at the 11th hour. With the election just nine days away, it emerged that US attorney general Loretta Lynch had advised Comey not to disclose details of the fresh investigation. Ms Lynch, Mr Comey’s boss, told

the FBI chief to follow protocol and ‘not take any actions that could influence the outcome of a presidential election’. But Mr Comey ignored her advice and wrote a letter to Congress revealing that ‘pertinent’ new emails had been uncovered on the laptop of Clinton’s adviser Huma Abedin and that he was reopening his investigation into whether Mrs Clinton illegally handled classified information during her time as Secretary of State. Mrs Clinton lashed out at Mr Comey, demanding the release of

the new emails, saying: ‘The American people deserve to get the full and complete facts immediately.’ Ms Abedin’s computer was seized by the FBI as part of a separate investigation into her estranged husband Anthony Weiner, who is accused of ‘sexting’ a 15-year-old girl. The new ABC/Washington Post poll was taken 24 hours before the new scandal erupted. Mrs Clinton, who a week ago was 12 points ahead, is now down to 47% to Trump’s 45%. [email protected]
