During three weeks of August 7 1959 Miss Rosalie M" Cox collected bryophytes and lichens and the foll owing notes are extracted from the Prize Essay which she submitted 9 of which a copy will be deposited at the Old Light . It must be rememb ered that 1959 was an exceptionally dry year ? it follows that further examination of the island during a wetter season is likely to yield more numerous recor ds.
