M ount Blackburn, Wrangell M ountains. There were two expeditions on M ount Blackburn (1 6,523 feet). The M ountaineering Association of D aito City was com posed of T adanobu Yokoyam a, leader, Toshiyuki Shinto and four others. From Base Cam p at 7700 feet on the N abesna G lacier, they established Cam p I at 9500 feet on July 28 and Cam p II two days later. They climbed the west peak of Blackburn on July 31. (It is not clear w hether this is the highest summit. — E ditor.) The Jikei University School of Medicine Alpine Club was led by Yoshio Nagao. From the N ebesna G lacier they climbed the northw est ridge. On July 15 Ken Shinohara, Ryo Kohji, Tam io Ohoka and Tstsuro Iriokura stood on the summit.
