Cars of the Future: They Are Here Already! The Southwest Michigan Physics Teacher Alliance is sponsoring a FREE gathering for those interested in cars of the future. This evening will focus on electric vehicles, ranging from hybrids to all electrics, including an owner converted vehicle. Western Michigan University Professor Paul Pancella will share his expertise in converting a gasoline vehicle to an all-electric vehicle. This evening will be of special interest to students, parents and teachers. The Chevrolet Volt, Nissan Leaf, and owner converted vehicle will be on site for closer inspection. Teachers: This is a great way to expose your students to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)! When: Where:

Where is the exhaust pipe? What were some engineering and fabrication challenges during the conversion?
A quick look under the hood! What are those things?
Performance testing How does it compare to other cars?
