NOTICE OF COMPLETE APPLICATION AND PUBLIC MEETING ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT – ZB02-2016, 1166 5TH LINE
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Port Hope hereby considers an application to amend Zoning By-law 20/2010 under Section 34 of the Planning Act, submitted by RFA Planning Consultant Inc. on behalf of Debbie Nightingale and Shain Jaffe for lands municipally known as 1166 5th Line, Rural Area, to be a Complete Application in accordance with the Planning Act. Furthermore, the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Port Hope will hold a Public Meeting on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 6:30pm at the Town Hall, 56 Queen Street, Port Hope to consider the proposed application.

The subject lands are currently designated “Prime Agricultural” under the Municipality of Port Hope Official Plan and are zoned Agricultural ‘A’ Zone by Zoning By-Law 20/2010, as amended. The owners have an active farm called “Haute Goat” consisting of more than 20 goats and also organize agri-tourist farm tours. They are proposing to construct a store for the retail sale of reprocessed farm produce as well as organizing a maximum of six special events per year as part of their farm’s agri-tourist operation. THE PURPOSE of the Zoning By-law Amended is to rezone the subject lands to a site specific ‘A(110)’ Zone that in addition to the permitted uses of the current zone will also allow the Retail Store, Accessory and Seasonal Events uses. ANY PERSON may attend the Public Meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of, or in opposition to the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment. Should you be unable to attend the Public Meeting, your written submission will be received at the address given below, up until the time of the Public Meeting. If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at the Public Meeting or make written submissions to the Municipality of Port Hope before the proposed rezoning is approved, the person or public body: i) is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Municipality of Port Hope to the Ontario Municipal Board; and ii) may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Municipal Board unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
