My Precious Quilt Quilt 1 Sewing Instructions 1. Place (1) 2 ½” Fabric D square on the left side of (1) 2 ½” x 4 ½” Fabric C strip, right sides together (Fig. 1). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 1). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 2). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼” seam allowance.

2. Place another 2 ½” Fabric D square on the right side of the 2 ½” x 4 ½” Fabric C strip, right sides together (Fig. 3). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper left corner to the lower right corner (Fig. 3). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 4). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼” seam allowance to make (1) DCD unit.

9. Finish the raw edges of each shape with a decorative stitch such as a buttonhole or satin stitch to make (4) Snowflake blocks.

8. Refer to the quilt photo to arrange and press the (4) Fabric M snowflakes onto (4) 6 ½” Fabric L squares (Fig. 7).

12. Sew (1) 2” x 41 ½” Fabric B strip to each side of the 22 ½” x 41 ½” Fabric A panel. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 25 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A panel. Trim the block to measure 24 ½” x 44 ½” to make the Center Block (Fig. 10). B

6. Following the manufacturer’s instructions, trace the listed number of each template onto the paper side of the fusible web. Roughly cut out each template about ⅛” outside the drawn lines.

7. Press each template onto the wrong side of the fabrics as listed on the templates. Cut out each template on the drawn lines.

16. Sew (1) 2” x 60 ½” Fabric N strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 2” x 43 ½” Fabric N strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top. 17. Sew (1) 5 ½” x 63 ½” Fabric O strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 5 ½” x 53 ½” Fabric O strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top.
14. Sew (1) 2 ½” Fabric B square, (6) assorted units and (1) 2 ½” Fabric B square together in that order to make (1) strip. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.
18. Layer and quilt as desired. 19. Sew the (7) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric J strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press.
15. Sew (1) KJI long strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) Snowflake block to each end of (1) KJI short strip. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips to the top and to the bottom of the Center block to make the quilt top.
20. Bind as desired.
