SIZES: 2 (4, 6, 8) KNITTED MEASUREMENTS Chest: 26 (28, 31, 32)”/66 (71, 78.5, 81.5)cm Length: 13 (14, 15, 17)”/33 (35.5, 38, 43)cm GAUGE In St st, with 2 strands of yarn held together, 13 sts and 18 rows = 4”/10cm NOTES Yarn is held doubled throughout. Shoulders are joined using three-needle bind off method or shoulder stitches may be bound-off and seams sewn. Jacket closing is written for girls; reverse placement of buttons and buttonholes for boys.

PATTERN STITCHES Stockinette stitch (St st) Knit on RS, purl on WS rows. Seed St (multiple of 2 sts): Row 1 (WS): *K1, p1; rep from * across. Row 2 and all other rows: Knit the purl sts and purl the knit sts as they face you. Rep Row 2 for Seed st. BACK With 2 strands of yarn held tog, CO 42 (46, 50, 52) sts. Work in Seed st until piece measures 1” from CO edge. Change to St st and work until piece measures 8 ½ (9, 9 ½, 11)” from CO edge. Mark each side for underarm. Continue in St st until piece measures 13 (14, 15, 17)” from CO edge. Next Row: Work 14 (14, 16, 16) sts and place on holder for 1st shoulder, BO center 14 (18, 18, 20) sts for neck, work rem 14 (14, 16, 16) sts and place on another holder for 2nd shoulder. POCKET LINING With 2 strands of yarn held tog, CO 12 (12, 12, 14) sts. Work in St st for 3½ (3½, 4, 5)”, end with a WS row. Place sts on a holder. LEFT FRONT With 2 strands of yarn held tog, CO 30 (32, 34, 36) sts. Work in Seed st until piece measures 1" from CO edge, end with a WS row. Est patt: Next Row (RS): Work 16 (18, 18, 20) sts in Seed st, place marker, work rem 14 (14, 16, 16) sts in St st. Continue in est patt until piece measures 8 ½ (9, 9 ½, 11)" from CO edge. Place marker for underarm. Continue in est patt until piece measures same as Back to shoulder, end with a WS row. Next Row (RS): Work 14 (14, 16, 16) sts for shoulder and place on a holder, work rem 16 (18, 18, 20) sts in Seed st. Collar: Continue in Seed st for 2 (2½, 3, 3 ½)", end with a RS row. Short Rows: Next Row (WS): Work 11 sts in Seed st, turn, wrap and sl 1, then work back. Next Row (WS): Work 6 sts in Seed st, turn, wrap and sl 1, then work back. Next Row (WS): Work across in Seed st, lifting up wrapped st and working that with next st. BO all sts. Place markers for 3 sets of double buttons on Left Front, 4 sts from front edge and 8 sts apart, at 2 (2 ¼, 2 ½, 2 ¾)", 4 ¼ (4 ½, 4 ¾, 5)" and 6 ½ (6 ¾, 7, 7 ¼)" from CO edge. RIGHT FRONT CO and work as for Left Front until piece measures 5 (5 ½, 6, 6 ½)" from CO edge; At the same time, working buttonholes (yo, k2tog or p2tog) opposite markers. Insert pocket lining (RS): Work 18 (20, 20, 22) sts in est patt, sl next 12 (12, 12, 14) sts on a holder for pocket opening, place sts from pocket lining holder onto LH needle and work across these sts in St st, then work to end of row. Continue as for Left Front, reversing shaping and working buttonholes opposite markers. SLEEVES Note: Sleeves are worked from shoulder to cuff. Join shoulder seams with three-needle BO method (or sew if shoulder sts were bound-off). With RS facing, pick up 34 (36, 38, 40) sts between underarm markers. Work in St st, dec 1 st each edge every 1 (1 ½, 1 ¾, 2)” 5 times--24 (26, 28, 30) sts. Work even in St st until Sleeve measures 9 (9½, 10, 10 ½)”. Work in Seed St for 1 (1½, 1½, 2)”. BO all sts in patt. FINISHING Pocket: With RS facing, pick up pocket sts from holder. Work in Seed St for 4 rows. BO in patt. Sew pocket lining to WS of Jacket. Tack each side of Seed st border at top of pocket in place.

Sew center back of collar. Sew collar to Jacket. Sew side and Sleeve seams. Sew on buttons. Using yarn needle, weave in ends.
