SPECIAL TERMS Ssp (decrease): Slip 2 sts, one at a time knitwise, to right-hand needle, return sts to left-hand needle in new orientation and purl them together through the back loops. GAUGE In Left-Slanting Lace, 24 sts and 32 rows = 4"/10 cm STITCHES USED Stockinette stitch (St st): Knit on RS, purl on WS. Left-Slanting Lace: (multiple of 5 sts) Note: You may work pattern from text or Chart. Row 1 (RS): *K3, yo, ssk; rep from * to end. Row 2 and All WS Rows: Purl. Shape Neck (RS): Work across to 2 sts before marker, k2, slip marker, join a second ball of yarn and BO 40 sts for Back neck, k1, work to end—13 (18, 23) sts remain each shoulder. Working both sides at the same time, work even for 1 row. Next Row (RS): Dec 1 st at each neck edge every other row 3 times, as follows: On right neck edge, work to last 4 sts, k2tog, k2; on left neck edge, k2, ssk, work to end—10 (15, 20) sts remain each shoulder.
