Acting  as  an  Agent   Bylaw 11.1.4

Staff members of the athletics department of a member institution shall not represent, directly or indirectly, any individual in the marketing of athletics ability or reputation to an agent, a professional sports team or a professional sports organization, including receiving compensation for arranging commercial endorsements or personal appearances for former student-athletes, and shall not receive compensation or gratuities of any kind, directly or indirectly, for such services.

No  Missed  Class  for  Promo  Activities   Bylaw 12.5.1.1

A member institution or recognized entity thereof (e.g., fraternity, sorority or student government organization), a member conference or a noninstitutional charitable, educational or nonprofit agency may use a studentathlete's appearance to support its charitable or educational activities or to support activities considered incidental to the student-athlete's participation in intercollegiate athletics. However the student-athlete may not miss class to appear at these activities.

Additional persons (e.g., prospective student-athlete's brother, sister, friend) may stay in the same room as the prospective student-athlete or parents, spouse or legal guardians of the prospective student-athlete, but the institution shall not pay the costs resulting from the additional occupants. The additional occupants shall not be prospective student-athletes being recruited by the institution. [R]

Outside  Competition   Bylaw 14.7.1

A student-athlete in any sport other than basketball who participates during the academic year as a member of any outside team in any noncollegiate, amateur competition becomes ineligible for intercollegiate competition unless eligibility is restored by the Committee on Student-Athlete Reinstatement. A student-athlete is permitted to practice on such a team.

Reasonable  Refreshments   Bylaw 16.6.1.5

An institution may provide the family (e.g., parents or legal guardians, relatives) of a student-athlete with reasonable refreshments (e.g., soft drinks, snacks) in conjunction with educational meetings or celebratory events (e.g., senior night) and on an occasional basis for other reasons. [R]

Nonqualifier  Summer  Aid   Bylaw 15.2.8.1.2.4

A nonqualifier may receive athletically related financial aid to attend an institution's summer term or summer school after the first academic year in residence under the following conditions: (a) The student-athlete has satisfied progress-toward-degree requirements and, thus, would be eligible for competition for the succeeding year (b) The student-athlete has been awarded athletically related financial aid for the succeeding academic year; and (c) The student-athlete receives athletically related financial aid to attend the institution's summer term or summer school only in proportion to the amount of athletically related financial aid the student will receive for the succeeding year.

Bylaw 17.1.6.4

During the playing season, all countable athletically related activities shall be prohibited during one calendar day per week, except during participation in one conference and postseason championship and any postseason bowl games or National Invitation Tournaments, and during participation in NCAA championships.
