BENSON AND VANDER WEIDE NAMED ALL-PAC-12, STONE ALL-FRESHMAN SR L Amanda Benson and SO OH Lindsey Vander Weide have both been named to the All-Pac-12 team, the conference announced on Monday, Nov. 28, while FR MB Ronika Stone was named to the all-freshman team and joined three other Ducks with All-Pac-12 honorable mention recognition. Benson earns her first All-Pac-12 selection in her final season as the Ducks’ libero in which she is second in the Pac-12 with 4.96 digs per set while directing the Oregon defense. Vander Weide has now been named All-Pac-12 in each of her first two seasons with the Ducks, earning the honor this season after leading Oregon in the regular season with 3.24 kills per set, 2.76 digs per set and 0.31 aces per set. Stone earned All-Freshman and All-Pac-12 honorable mention honors after leading Oregon with a .353 hitting percentage and 92 total blocks in the regular season. JR RS Taylor Agost, SO MB Lauren Page and FR OH Jolie Rasmussen, joined Stone with AllPac-12 honorable mention honors. OREGON BY THE NUMBERS: DUCKS RANK AMONG THE NATION’S ELITE Oregon’s offense has been stellar this season, evident by the Ducks’ standing in multiple national statistical categories. The Ducks rank ninth nationally in assists per set (13.55), 14th in kills per set (14.32) and 15th in hitting percentage (.274), while leading the Pac-12 assists per set and kills per set. Individually, SR L Amanda Benson is second in the Pac-12 and 43rd in the country in digs per set with 4.96. SO OH Lindsey Vander Weide is third in the Pac-12 in aces per set (0.31) and eighth in kills per set (3.24). FR MB Ronika Stone is fourth in the conference with a .353 hitting percentage, while JR RS Taylor Agost is seventh at .333 but has the most swings (609) of any player in the top 10. FR OH Jolie Rasmussen is tied for fifth in the conference with 0.25 aces per set, and JR S Maggie Scott is ninth with 6.70 assists per set. ROAD WARRIORS While the Ducks played 18 of 29 matches at home during the regular season, they found their most success on the road with an impressive 9-2 record. Oregon claimed three wins over ranked teams on the road, highlighted by a straight-set sweep of Washington, the Pac-12 champions and No. 8 overall seed in the tournament, on Nov. 4 in Seattle. The Ducks have hit .276 on the road while holding opponents to a mark of .194, and all three of their five-set wins have come away from home. FR MB Ronika Stone has been stellar on the road with a .376 hitting percentage and 2.64 kills per set, and JR RS Taylor Agost is right behind with marks of .361 and 2.62. SO OH Lindsey Vander Weide leads the way with 3.11 kills per set. BENSON JOINS SWOBODA IN 2,000-DIG CLUB, CHASING ALL-TIME RECORD Playing at Washington State on Nov. 6, SR L Amanda Benson moved her career dig total to 2,005 to join Katie Swoboda (2005-08) as the only two players in UO history to surpass the 2,000-dig mark. Benson currently trails Swoboda by only 86 digs for the all-time record (2,198) with 2,112, and is second only to Swoboda in career digs per set with 4.64. Benson has tallied 541 digs in 2016, seven shy of her career-high (2014), and is currently fifth on the UO single-season list 58 digs behind Swoboda’s single-season record of 599 (2008). Benson’s 4.96 digs per set this season are currently a career-high and would be the fourth-best mark in single-season history.

MOORE CLOSING IN ON 600 CAREER WINS In his 12th season with the Ducks and 28th overall, head coach Jim Moore is just three victories away from reaching the 600 mark as a head coach. Of those 597 wins, 245 have come while at the helm at Oregon, where he has boasted a .675 winning percentage over 11-plus years. Moore collected a combined 84 wins over four years between Chico State and Northern Michigan before arriving in Eugene, and 84 over four years at Texas. Moore started his coaching career at Northern Michigan where he accumulated 123 wins in his first stint with the program before moving to Kansas State, where he won 61 matches over three seasons. OFFENSIVE/DEFENSIVE EFFICIENCY KEY FOR THE DUCKS The Ducks’ success this season has often hinged on winning the battle of hitting efficiency. Oregon is 20-0 this season when leading in attack percentage and 13-0 when hitting better than .300. Meanwhile, the Ducks are 0-9 when trailing in attack percentage and 0-6 when hitting under .200. Oregon is 17-0 when its opponent hits worse than .200, but 3-9 when its opponent hits better than .200. The Ducks allowed an opposing team to hit better than .300 just twice in 29 matches during the regular season. AGOST SHOWING ABILITY TO TAKE OVER MATCHES When JR RS Taylor Agost has been on this season, she’s been close to unstoppable. Agost has recorded double-digit kills 14 times this season, including nine of the last 14 matches, and has hit better than .400 12 times. The junior has committed only 59 attack errors on 609 swings this season, hitting her way to a .333 mark. Agost has committed two or fewer errors this season in each of her 12 matches hitting better than .400, highlighted by a career-best .667 mark on Sept. 2 against Murray State in which she put down 12 kills on 16 swings without an error. VANDER WEIDE CONTINUES TO PROVE SHE’S AN ALL-AROUND PLAYER Often referred to on the outside as an “offensive weapon,” SO OH Lindsey Vander Weide has made it clear this season that she is much more than just an outside hitter. Vander Weide has rarely come off the court this year, serving as a six-rotation player while passing from the back row on a consistent basis. Vander Weide is ninth in the Pac-12 with 11 double-doubles this season, and has posted double-digit digs in 16 matches. The sophomore also has a service ace in all but nine matches in 2016 with multiple aces in eight different matches, highlighted by a career-high four against Colorado in the home finale and three in the regular season finale at Oregon State.

NOTES DUCKS THRIVING IN 6-2 OFFENSIVE SCHEME The potent attack that has been the Oregon offense this season has been an exciting development to watch, with Jim Moore rotating through an astounding number of players in a highly-effective offense. Led by SO OH Lindsey Vander Weide’s 3.24 kills per set, the Ducks have seven different players that are averaging more than 1.00 kill per set, four averaging more than 2.00 kills per set and five players hitting better than .265. JR S Maggie Scott and SO S August Raskie have both been very effective while rotating through the offense, with Scott averaging 6.70 assists per set and Raskie adding 5.33 assists per set.

Award Defensive Freshman Defensive Offensive Offensive

BENSON, VANDER WEIDE PROVIDING SOLID BACK LINE OF DEFENSE The Ducks have largely relied on two players to dig balls this season, with SR L Amanda Benson and SO OH Lindsey Vander Weide handiling the majority of those duties. Benson has continued her storied career of digging everything that comes her way, leading the Ducks (2nd in Pac-12) with 4.96 digs per set while recording 541 total digs. Vander Weide is averaging 2.76 digs per set with 301 digs while serving as the only consistent six-rotation player for the Ducks. FRESHMEN FAB FOUR Oregon’s highly-touted freshman class has delivered on expectations thus far in their first season of collegiate volleyball. FR MB Ronika Stone has been stellar, leading the team in hitting percentage (.353) and total blocks (92) while providing the team with a noticeable infusion of energy. The San Jose, Calif. native has hit better than .300 in 22 of 29 matches this season and has double-digit kills in each of the last four matches. FR OH Jolie Rasmussen has shown tremendous potential on the offensive end, averaging 2.66 kills per set - second on the team - while hitting .221, and has also shown some ability in receive with 1.09 digs per set. FR RS Willow Johnson has provided versatility with her left-handed swing on the right side, hitting .226 with 1.88 kills per set while also averaging 0.55 blocks per set. FR DS/OH Brooke Van Sickle, the heir apparent to Benson at libero, has been all over the court in her first season and has averaged 0.68 kills per set and 1.49 digs per set.

NCAA FIRST ROUND

OREGON VOLLEYBALL (20-9, 13-7 PAC-12)

In his 12th year at the helm of the Oregon program, head coach Jim Moore has continuously helped the Ducks reach new heights. Under Moore, the Ducks have made an NCAA Tournament appearance an annual event, reaching the postseason in 10 of his 12 years at Oregon and each of the last six when Oregon opens the tournament this weekend in Ann Arbor, Mich. against Miami (Ohio). Moore has not only led the Ducks to the postseason, but guided them through it. At Oregon, Moore has advanced past the first round in six of the nine years the team has qualified (Not inlcuding 2016), with a run to the 2012 national championship. The historic 2012 season was a banner year for Moore and the Ducks. UO finished the season with a 30-5 overall record and an 85.7 winning percentage, both of which are school-bests in the NCAA era. The achievements garnered acclaim for Moore who was named 2012 National Coach of the Year by Volleyball Magazine. The award was the third national honor of his career after being named the 2007 Collegiate Volleyball Update National Coach of the Year in 2007 and the AVCA Division II National Coach of the Year in 1993 at Northern Michigan.

THE JIM MOORE FILE • Three-time National Coach of the Year • 2012 Volleyball Magazine National Coach of the Year • 1993 NCAA Div. II National Coach of the Year • 2007 College Volleyball Update Coach of the Year • 2006 Pac-10 Conference Coach of the Year • Three-time AVCA/Tachikara Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year • Two-time Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference Coach of the Year • 1993 NCAA Div. II National Championship • Developed 29 All-Americans • One Big 12 Championship • 18 All-Pac-12 / 15 All-Big 12 Selections • One NCAA Div. 1 Player of the Year Award • Two NCAA Div. II Player of the Year Awards • Two Honda Broderick Award Winners • Developed two Olympians and eight National Team members

During the 2014 season, Moore passed a major milestone with his 197th win as the leader of the Ducks, becoming the winningest coach in Oregon history. With the team’s win against Oregon State on Sept. 24, Moore passed Karla Rice who notched 196 wins during her 10-year stint from 1968-77. Moore is closing in on another milestone as he needs only three wins to reach 600 for his career. Prior to Moore’s takeover at Oregon, the Ducks had gone 14 years without finishing a season with a winning record. In his second year, Moore turned the tables and brought winning fortunes to the UO program and never looked back. The 2006 team won 17 matches (17-12), a mark the team has not dropped below in each of the successive years under Moore. In addition to rebuilding programs and promoting team success, Moore has developed world-class talent at the individual level. The most recent example is Oregon alum Alaina Bergsma being named AVCA National Player of the Year in 2012. The honor was the first for one of Moore’s student-athletes at the Division I level. Moore had previously coached two National Players of the year at the Division II level. Bergsma was not the only student-athlete to earn national attention in 2012. Lauren Plum joined her as a First Team All-American while Liz Brenner was named All-America Second Team during that season and repeated the honor in 2013 as a junior. Eleven of UO’s 12 All-America honors have come during Moore’s tenure, thanks to the history-making careers of Alaina Bergsma (1st - 2012, 3rd-2011), Martenne Bettendorf (3rd - 2014), Liz Brenner (2nd – 2012, 2013) Neticia Enesi (3rd-2008, 2009), Gorana Maricic (1st-2008, 2nd- 2007), Sonja Newcombe (2nd-2009) and Lauren Plum (1st - 2012).

Since the first season of Pac-10 play in 1986, Moore’s players have racked up 18 of the Ducks’ 25 All-Conference honors courtesy of Bergsma (2011, 2012) and Plum (2011, 2012), Bettendorf (2014), Brenner (2012, 2013, 2014), Meyers (2010), Enesi (2008, 2009), Newcombe (2008, 2009), Maricic (2007, 2008), Lindsey Vander Weide (2015, 2016) and Amanda Benson (2016). Moore is responsible for 20 of Oregon’s 24 honorable mentions from Ronika Stone (2016), Taylor Agost (2016), Lauren Page (2016), Jolie Rasmussen (2016), Benson (2014, 2015), Kacey Nady (2014), Plum (2013), Ariana Williams (2011, 2012, 2013), Haley Jacob (2012), Bergsma (2010), Djordjevic (2009), Meyers (2007, 2009), Katie Swoboda (2008, 2007) and Newcombe (2006, 2007). Likewise, he has mentored 10 of Oregon’s 16 all-time Pac-12 All-Freshman Team selections – Stone (2016), Vander Weide (2015) ,Frankie Shebby and Maggie Scott (2014), Amanda Benson (2013), Liz Brenner (2011), Plum (2010), Fischer (2009), Meyers (2007), Newcombe (2006) and Mira Djuric (2005) - and three of its seven honorable mentions - Djordjevic (2006), Enesi (2006) and Swoboda (2005). The team’s emphasis on excellence to academics certainly extends to the classroom. In 2005-06 and ‘09-10, the team received the AVCA Academic Team Award after it combined for +3.30 GPA’s each academic year. On Pac-10/12 All-Academic rolls Moore has seen 14 student-athletes to Pac-12 awards along with 36 honorable mentions. Prior to his arrival in Eugene, Moore served as head coach at Northern Michigan (1989-94, 2003-04), Kansas State (1994-97), Texas (1997-00) and Chico State (200102).ecruiting challenges, his five-year tenure culminated in the Wildcats winning the 1993 NCAA II National Championship. Moore raised the perennial sub-.500 team to national dominance, highlighted by three consecutive trips to the NCAA Division II National Tournament quarterfinals, back-to-back appearances in the national championship match, and finally the 1993 National Championship after a phenomenal season record of 38-1. Moore and his wife, Stacy Metro, have two children: Matthew and Michael. MOORE’S CAREER COACHING RECORD
