Northland News

Many of us have found that utilities and services in our area have not always followed industry code when burying cables, etc. As a result, one wrong move with the thrust of a shovel could result in serious harm to yourself…or loss of Internet and Cable T.V. Access!! (Gasp!) Call Before You Dig!! The numbers to call are listed in the phone book. Your utility company and neighbors thank you.

Curbing Our Pets…It’s Not Just Being Neighborly… Having a pet(s) is a HUGE responsibility. We feed them, pay their doctor bill$$, show them the same love they show us, and accept them into our daily lives as (hopefully) life-long companions. Curbing our pets in the neighborhood during their walks or play time is not just being neighborly; it’s a Gladstone City Ordinance. Many of us take pride in our community and ask that pet owners help carry on that pride by curbing their pets. Avoid the fines and the embarrassment of being reported… Trust me… your neighbors’ thank you!!! Nothing ruins your day like stepping. Did you know you can visit us on the world-wide web?? www.brooktreehomes.org You can access the Northland Neighborhood website at: www.nni.org

You can access the Gladstone, MO website at: http://www.gladstone.mo.us/ “…utilities and services…have not always followed industry code…Call Before You Dig!!”

New Calendar of Events Posted Below… At this time the Board would like to draw your attention to our latest schedule for upcoming events. Volunteers for neighborhood activities such as “manning the grills” for the pool parties and assisting with neighborhood beautification projects are always welcomed and smiled upon. You might just see your name posted in our Neighborhood Newsletter as an outstanding contributor to your community! Volunteering in your community is a great way to meet your neighbors. The rewards are endless!!

More Neighborhood News Yearly Home Owners Association Dues The HOA Board recently reviewed the HOA Dues “Aging Report” and has determined to “step up” efforts to reconcile past-due accounts as well as restrict access to our neighborhood “perks” those dues pay for each year. The Board consistently strives to find ways to reduce expenditures in order to keep our annual dues at a very affordable rate and Brooktree remains highly competitive vs. our surrounding neighborhoods. However, our H.O.A. expenditures are fairly “fixed” so we cannot forgive or forget either dues or late-fees. Contact Dennis Davis, Treasurer, via the website for any questions you may have about dues or late fees.

Neighborhood Clean-Up/Beautification Project Currently scheduled for May 2, 2009, the Board is looking to our neighbors for ideas and assistance. Know any Engineering and/or Architecture students or Boy/Girl Scout troops looking for a project site? Contact the Board via the Brooktree website with your ideas/recommendations.
