NCSA MISSION STATEMENT The mission of the New Canaan Soccer Association (“NCSA”) is to provide the youth of New Canaan, from the grades of Pre-K thru 8th grade, with organized soccer programs that are designed to allow all participants to learn and develop in a positive environment. All soccer programs are to be designed to follow a NCSA Board approved curriculum, under the guidance of professional coaches, which will teach age appropriate skill development, foster a joy for the game, create positive team dynamics, and provide a path for advancement as players achieve appropriate levels of skill. The NCSA is committed to developing the highest potential skill level in all players, and to creating teams that will be competitive at the highest level of placement. 4
NCSA Player Code Of Conduct ! I hereby pledge to follow this Code of Conduct. This Code of Conduct applies to all
practices, games, tournaments and any other CJSA and NCSA events. ! I will do my best to: ! Display good sportsmanship. I will play fairly and observe the rules of the game. I will respect

my coach, teammates, officials, and spectators. I will win with grace and accept defeat with dignity. Listen and learn from my coach. I will do my best to improve as a soccer player and give my best at all practices and games. Remember to work with my teammates and understand that together we form a team where everyone is equal. I will place the emotional and physical well being of other players ahead of my personal desire to win. Attend every practice and game that I can, and be responsible for notifying my coach or manager if I cant attend a practice or game. Be prepared for practice and games by having my uniform, cleats, shin guards, ball, and water bottle. Accept the Referees decisions without argument. Referees are there to maintain discipline and fair play
NCSA Parent Code Of Conduct ! I understand that as the parent(s)/guardian of a child who participates in the
NCSA, both I and my player are bound by the NCSA Code of Conduct and accordingly: ! I will teach my child to play by the rules. I will place the emotional and physical well
being of all players and spectators ahead of any personal desire to win. ! I will help my child work toward skill improvement and sportsmanship. I will not criticize or permit or encourage my child to criticize any persons including players, managers, coaches, referees or spectators at any practices, games, tournaments, or NCSA events. ! I agree that I will not coach from the sideline or the stands. I will set a good example by only speaking positively about my child’s team and teammates. ! I understand that only NCSA appointed team coach (es) may coach at games or practices, and that the team manager may administer to the needs of the team and to help the coach keep the team in order. I will stay on the side of the field opposite the 6
NCSA Travel Program Philosophy ! The Travel Program goal is to develop players and form teams to
compete at the highest level in the CT Junior Soccer Association (CJSA). ! The program will require a significant commitment from players for practices and games all of which will be mandatory ! Any team the NCSA enters into the Travel league will go into every game with the express purpose to win the game ! Coaches hired by the NCSA will be advised of this philosophy and be expected to adhere to it
7
NCSA Travel Program Philosophy ! Practice – 3 hours of practice time per week "
Skill level, effort and attitude in practice will directly affect the level of playing time in games
! Games – One/Two games per week ! Objective is to play players in the positions that will give the team the
highest probability of winning ! Players are not guaranteed equal playing time in either individual games or over the course of the season ! The amount of time a player will play will be dependent on the coach’s judgment and the game situation ! CT Cup: All NCSA Red teams U11 & above will be entered
