NE W MarGrip™II Lightweight Filler Marson MarGrip™II Hi-Tech Lightweight Filler is specially formulated with Z-216 which greatly enhances adhesion to difficult surfaces such as galvanized steel, aluminum and E-Coat. This tack-free, easy-to-sand, non-shrinking formula also adheres to SMC, metal, fiberglass and cured primer or paint. When properly applied, MarGrip™II meets the requirements of current OEM corrosion warranties. Degreasing and a light scuff the surface with 80-grit sandpaper is all that is required to prepare galvanized steel for filling. MarGrip™II eliminates the need to sand through to bare steel, leaving the protective galvanized/zinc coating in place to prevent corrosion. Products: • 01141, Gallon - 4/case Features: • Tack-Free • Super-Smooth Formula • Contains Special Additive Z-216 Advantages: • Easy Sanding in 20 Minutes • Virtually Pinhole-Free Formula • Superior Adhesion to Galvanized Steel Benefits: • Increases Productivity • Saves Labor • Preserves OEM Corrosion Warranty

SURFACE PREPARATION

Clean painted/primed, E-Coat bare steel, galvanized steel or aluminum surfaces with acetone to remove all wax, grease and oils. Sand with 80-grit sandpaper to remove primer, paint or rust. If repairing galvanized steel, E-Coat or aluminum, lightly scuff with 80-grit sandpaper. DO NOT sand beyond the galvanized/zinc coating when repairing galvanized steel. Re-clean the repair area following the above surface preparation step.

MIXING

Mix MarGrip™II and cream hardener on a clean, non-absorbent surface such as a plastic or glass mixing board. Mix a circle of MarGrip™II that is 3 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch thick with a 3 inch long strip of cream hardener (or mix 1/4 teaspoon of cream hardener to 4 tablespoons of MarGrip™II). Mix thoroughly to a uniform color. Gel time/setting time is approximately 3-5 minutes depending on the temperature and the amount of hardener used. For best results, apply at 45° or above. For cleanup, use acetone.

APPLICATION &SANDING Apply a thin layer using firm pressure to ensure maximum adhesion, then apply additional layers to build up the surface. DO NOT apply too thick in one application. Can be sanded in only 20 minutes with 80-grit sandpaper. Finish sanding and featheredge with 180- or 220-grit sandpaper. To help protect against basecoat/clearcoat staining, apply Marson Platinum Glaze over the MarGrip™II application.
