Minutes of the Board of Directors NRBC August 30, 2015 6 pm Champs Call to order: Meeting called to order Mandi Erickson at 6:17 pm
NRBC Board of Directors present: Mike Weiss, Erin Seckora, Jeff Towberman, Brad Altena, Chris Heinbuch, Mandi Erickson, Chuck Olson, Travis Helland NRBC Board of Directors absent: Piper Thibodeau Guests: None Approval of Agenda (JT/BA) pass. Approval of May Minutes (JT/BA) pass. Open Forum 1. President Mike Weiss requested reimbursement for the use of his personal trailer the last few seasons at Hatfield Park for the storage of equipment and mounds. He indicated the door is damaged beyond repair and presented the value of the trailer at $1500. Discussion on the potential purchase of the trailer and need for additional detail regarding fair market value and potential for repair. Motion to reimburse Mike $800 for the use of his trailer (JT/TH) 6 yes, 1 no, 1 abstention. 2. Jeff and Piper met with Mike Darrow and Fred Horne regarding the relationship that that NRBC has with the City of New Richmond. The discussion focused on field usage, fees charge to the club, and outstanding billing from the City of New Richmond. Mike Darrow and Mayor Fred Horne indicated they were currently working on new protocols for how the city will collaborate with youth sports organizations going forward and will contact us with additional information as it becomes available. Agenda 3. Committee reports a. Executive committee – 1. $1000 Chevy donation, Mike requested equipment as well given the receipt of 5 sets of youth catcher’s equipment last season. 2. Sports Authority will not be giving the NRBC funds this year. Mike has requested $500 for dugout club. No word yet. 3. McDonald’s has donated $1884 for T-ball sponsorship; the check has arrived and Erin will deposit. 4. Mike met extensively with Kim from Moore Imprints regarding purchasing all NRBC apparel and uniforms through them. They are willing, able, and excited to collaborate. b. Finance committee – i. $10849 Total in our account with the additional deposits of $1400 and $1423 to be added this week. ii. Storage Sheds at Hatfield need to be confirmed. Does the NRBC want to purchase the sheds, continue renting the sheds, or return the sheds? Discussion tabled until September meeting; final payment is due by October 5, 2015. iii. We have only ONE unpaid member from the season! This player will not be permitted to register next season until this and last season’s balance is paid in full.

iv. Erin would like to investigate the possibility of changing the protocols for registration and volunteer preferences. We will table that discussion until mid-winter. v. Legion field work payment was determined to be the $650; this will be applied to their registration for the tournament as well as the $300 fence bill from the City of New Richmond. vi. A member offered to sell the NRBC a used hot-dog roller for concessions. The NRBC is not seeking the purchase of the hot dog roller at this time. c. Program development – 1. There is a potential for a second team at the U11 and U13 traveling levels due to the expressed interest of both age groups. Mandi will email the club and solicit other interested age-appropriate players to register for a ‘second’ single A team to be formed at those levels. Registrations will be due by September 30, 2015. The membership will be informed on the status of those teams at that time. d. Tournament/Travelingi. See details regarding tryouts above. Overall tryouts went very smoothly- there was a lot of positive feedback on fielding the entire roster after the summer tryout. Final rosters will be posted by August 31, 2015; Jeff will email Mandi the names to be posted onto the website at that time. ii. The traveling coaches will be considered the ‘current’ coaches of those teams until they are no longer the coaches of those teams; this could occur if their child is not named to the roster or if another parent applies for the position and is named head/assistant coach by the traveling committee. These coaches will also be responsible for their equipment for the duration of their coaching ‘career’ with the specific traveling team they lead. Each team may have an equipment allowance to fill in for lost or upgrading equipment. (JT/ES) pass. e. Operations committee – i. Calendar items: 1. September 30th deadline for additional traveling players to register for U11 or U13. 2. September 30th NRBC BoD meeting 3. December 15, 2015: $100 due for all traveling players 4. February 1, 2016: Registration Open for all players 5. March 5 and 6, 2016: Spring Camp with High School 6. April 1, 2016: Late Registration Begins 7. April 11, 2016: Traveling Parent Meeting 8. April 12, 2016: In House Parent Meeting 9. Tentative: April 15, 2016 Community Baseball Night (Varsity Game at Citizens, Uniform distribution at Hockey Rink, All club photo, tailgating). 10. April 23, 2016: Umpire Clinic 11. May 13, 2016: Baseball Weekend in NR at Hatfield/Team photos 12. June 11-12, 2016: (U14 and Jr. Legion Tournament) 13. Tentative: June 18-19, 2016 (U9, U10, U12 Tournament) 14. Tentative: June 25-26, 2016 (U11, U13 Tournament) 15. July 15-16, 2016: In House End of Season Tournament 16.
