Asset Management Tour New Zealand 6-10 November 2016 IPWEA (NAMS.AU) in association with its sister organisation NAMS NZ is pleased to announce a 5-day Asset Management Study Tour to New Zealand in November 2016. The Tour also incorporates attendance at the 2016 NAMS NZ Advanced Asset Management Forum in Wellington.
Visit Local Authorities Learn first hand from leading NZ Councils and NZ Agencies on their experiences in implementing asset management. The 2016 Tour will have a focus on: Overview of current AM issues from Auditor General Office Returning to the Top – The Forum Long term plans and levels of service Rebuilding Christchurch. Hear from leading asset management practitioners covering all asset classes (roads, stormwater, parks & buildings, water & sewerage) with the following visits planned on Tuesday 8th November through to Thursday 10th November:
NZ Office of Auditor General Wellington Council Christchurch Council Other Agencies in the Wellington and Christchurch regions
Introductory Address & Dinner An introductory Dinner on Sunday evening in Wellington will set the scene with NZ experiences with the latest issues of managing infrastructure sustainably and how councils are performing in recent audit assessments, among other things. This will provide context for the various council and agency visits that will follow.
Attend NAMS NZ Advanced AM Forum The tour begins with attendance at the 2016 NAMS NZ Advanced Asset Management Forum in Wellington (Monday 7th and Tuesday 8th November). The theme of the Forum is “Returning to the Top”. Full details of the NAMS NZ Advanced AM Forum and program can be found at http://www.nams.org.nz/ Forum Registration as part of the Tour includes attendance at all business sessions, teas, and lunches, Forum Dinner as detailed in the program. Partner Registration at the Forum includes the Forum Dinner.
Study Tour Costs The cost for the land portion of the Study Tour is AU$3,800+GST per person based on single/double room hotel accommodation, breakfasts & lunches,
dinners, bus/coach transportation, flight between Wellington and Christchurch, Council visits, Conference Registration and tour planning and organisation expenses. Participants are responsible for their own travel & transfer arrangements to/from New Zealand (to Wellington and from Christchurch), personal expenses and optional sightseeing. The Tour commences in Wellington on Sunday evening 6th November for dinner and introductory presentation. It concludes after the final Dinner in Christchurch on Thursday 10th November. For those delegates with a horse racing bent, the week of 8-12 November is the racing carnival in Christchurch. Hence there is an anniversary public holiday on Friday 11th. There is harness racing on Friday 11th, and the NZ galloping cup on Saturday 12th. You may want to arrange your own sightseeing to see more of NZ either side of the Tour?
Partners Welcome There is an opportunity for Partners to stay with the Group as a significant part of the Tour is based in and around Wellington and Christchurch. Additional cost for Partners to stay with the Group (5 night’s twin/double share accommodation with partner, breakfasts, dinners) including Forum Dinner and internal travel (coach/bus/Air) is AU$700+GST.
Payment of the Balance is to be paid in full by Friday 30th September 2016. Alternatively payment in full can be made at the time the Deposit is due. The amount of the Deposit will be forfeited if cancelling after 9th September 2016. However Registrations may be transferred to another person from the same organisation without penalty.
Travel Insurance and Passports and Visas
Accommodation Accommodation will be allocated at the discretion of the organisers and may be subject to change.
Air Travel & Transfers Participants are responsible for their own air travel & transfer arrangements to/from New Zealand (to and from Wellington). Internal travel to site visits in New Zealand is all included as part of the Tour package.
Payments A Deposit of AU$500 (for Partners add A$100) is required by Friday 9th September 2016. A completed Tour Registration Form is to accompany payment.
Participants are advised to make appropriate arrangements for insurance cover. All insurance, passports and visas are the responsibility of the Tour participants. The IPWEA, NAMS, Conference Organising Committee, Hotels, Conference Centre, The Conference Team and Councils and others associated with organising the Tour and Forum accept no liability or responsibility for death or illness, or injury/accident to or financial loss by any person participating in the Tour or attending the Conference, whatever the reason.
