20th October 2015 Number 3

Message from Mr Parker... A big thank you to all the children and parents/carers who donated food for the harvest festival. There was an incredible amount of food and St George’s Crypt were very grateful when they picked it all up. Years 4 and 5 did a lovely harvest assembly to a record breaking crowd with a range of songs they clearly enjoyed singing. We also had The Friends Of Waterloo discos last week which were very well attended. All the staff would like to thank the Friends Of Waterloo volunteers who gave up an incredible amount of time to set up and run the whole event. The Friends Of Waterloo would welcome any other people who could volunteer to help out at future events like the Winter Fair. Unfortunately, Mrs Bray left the school on Friday to start her new role as Business Manager at another school. We wish Mrs Bray all the best for her new role and will all miss her greatly. We have appointed a new Administrative Assistant in the office called Mrs Airey. Mrs Airey will be starting shortly after the half term holiday. We have also appointed a part time teacher called Mrs Pullan who will be supporting in Years 2 and 6. Mrs Royce has been updating the school website with photographs of all our staff so that you can now put a face to a name! We have parents evening in school this week on Wednesday and Thursday. If you haven’t booked an appointment yet, please contact your child’s class teacher or ring the school office. John Woods the Chair of Governors will have a table set up in the atrium throughout Thursday’s parents evening. If you would like to ask him any questions or just want to have a chat, then feel free to approach him. If you are not attending on Thursday, you can talk to him on the playground as he regularly drops off and picks up his own children (his photo is also on the website if you have never met John) During the half term, we are having some improvements made to the foundation stage outdoor area which should look fantastic and have an impact on pupil’s learning. A picture of the planned work will be displayed on the outdoor noticeboards so you can see how the area will look. I hope you all have an enjoyable half term holiday. Mr Parker Acting Head Teacher

Parking Can we please ask Parents/Carers, to park sensibly when dropping off and picking up children on a school day. We have had complaints from residents that cars are parked blocking their access to their drives. Please also refrain from using the staff car park if you do not have a child who needs to use the disabled spaces. Thank you
