January – March 2017
news + notes
FRAN’S FOOTNOTES New year! New classes! New Fabrics! New Notions! All the fabrics we have been ordering the last three months have started to arrive. Check our facebook page and website regularly to see what has just come in. Aurifil has come out with 80 weight thread, which is a very light weight thread ideal for hand applique and machine piecing. We have a new rack to hold 56 of the most popular colors and have also increased our selection of their 50 weight thread. Other new notions and patterns can also be found around the store. We also have a new associate. Natalie Hall started with us just at Thanksgiving. She is an avid fashion sewer and is excited about learning more about quilting. We are excited to have her talents as part of our team. This quarter we have a combination of new classes and old favorites that we were requested to bring back. As you browse the class offerings, check those you are interested in and don’t forget to sign up. Some classes fill fast and some require early enrollment so we can have all the supplies here for you. Our teachers are also asking that you remember to have materials precut for certain classes. Time allotted for these classes is planned with precutting in mind. Our purpose for that is to keep the cost of the class low for you. We are happy to help before the class day with choosing fabric and with your cutting. It is also football playoff time. We will be celebrating Super Bowl Sunday, February 7, with our own special kind of party: Sunday Super Sewing Sale. We will be open 12 – 5 pm with great bargains throughout the store. Come prepared to visit while you are here as the lines are sometimes long even with all the staff here! If you are on our e-mail list by January 20, you will get a sneak peak at what is on special in an email. Please register for email on our website. Lastly, in March we will begin our famous Sewing Circle Sampler. Registration is open now. We try not to limit enrollment, but we do have a limit to our space, so please sign up as soon as you decide to join us. Color stories are on line, but actual fabric may not be here until February.
Fran
Happy Sewing!
