HALWILL SCHOOL Newsletter No.38 SUMMER TERM 15th July 2016 A huge thank you to ‘The Friends Committee’. The money raised from the Ladies Night, the Christmas Hampers & Ice-Cream Fridays has been a fantastic amount of nearly £2,000. Thank you also to all of the parents, friends & family who have supported these events – it’s much appreciated by us all. The money is used solely for the advantage of the children at Halwill School and we are grateful to you all. Many thanks The Staff, Children & Governors of Halwill School Wednesday 20th July Sponsored Walk 2 – 3.15pm & BBQ 3.15 – 4.30pm As many of you are aware, the Friends are organising a Sponsored Walk for the whole school and hope that as many parents/carers as possible can join them. The walk is from the school, along the cycle track into Cookworthy Forest and back to school. When you return, there is a BBQ being run by the Friends with burgers, sausages, tea/coffee and cold drinks for sale. Could any money raised be handed in by the end of term or the first week back in September. Assistant Administrator required for Halwill and Ashwater Primary Schools The Carey Federation is made up of Ashwater and Halwill Primary Schools. Both schools are rated Good by OFSTED and provide outstanding education for our local children. The Federation is seeking a part-time Assistant Administrator (hourly rate between £7.58 to £8.04 dependent on experience) to join our existing admin team and to work at Halwill & Ashwater School for 20 ½ hours per week, starting 5th September 2016. The post will initially be a fixed term appointment until July 2017. The Assistant Administrator needs to be calm, flexible, helpful and approachable. Applicants must be: • competent and confident with computer based programmes, • be able to prioritise tasks, • work well under pressure, • self-motivated, • understand the need for good communication with adults and children, • good telephone manner and know how to interact with members of the public, • and work well as a member of a small team. Training will be given to the successful applicant on school systems and SIM’s computer programme, however knowledge of SIM's would be an advantage.
