Flight Captain’s Corner Fellow Daedalians, It was a pleasure to host the commander of the 55th Strategic Reconnaissance Wing, Colonel Marty “Moose” Reynolds. He brought us up to date on the major projects on Offutt, both on-going and planned. The most significant outcome though was that we got a chance to familiarize him with our group and to be present for our triple induction ceremony for our first non-pilot members: Ken Hurt is a KC and EC135 navigator, Dick Williams is a B52 and FB-111 radar navigator and Mark (Vito) Spadero is an electronic warfare officer in B-52 and RC-135. Colonel Reynolds and his aide left with membership application forms. The Awards Luncheon this month will award scholarships to seven ROTC cadets totaling $9500. We think these cadets are a good investment in the future of military aviation. Family members and ROTC staff members will be present as well as guests of honor. Jim Berg and Denny Acheson have put a lot of work into making this a special
occasion. Despite the commotion of the event, I find it satisfying to get a chance to talk with these young cadets about their hopes for the future. I encourage all of you to come and join in the celebration. VV

CFIP Update – Our CFIP candidate Nathan Kelly, PLV South NJROTC, has one flight left prior to his solo flight. The solo flight most likely will take place in about a week. Jeff has received a jacket from National to be presented after the solo flight. We hope to recognize his accomplishment at our November Awards Meeting **********************************
Looking for a few LEADERS In December we will be putting together the slate of officers to lead Flight #16 for next year. If you would be willing to help or know someone who would, please mention your thoughts to Bob McKee
