The SAAS unit recognizes Ms. Teah Jones and the Center for Academic Success (CAS) staff for the month of March. Each month the SAAS unit will recognize a different faculty, staff or unit whose efforts in serving our student athlete population goes “above and beyond” the call of duty.

For the month of March, we highlighted Ms. Jones who is the primary campus advisor for all student athletes in their first 60 credit hours. CAS as a whole, however continues to serve all student athletes through campus workshops, tutoring on core courses and supporting our teams during home contests. Once again, thank you to Ms. Jones and the staff at CAS for all they do to serve student athletes.

MEAC SAAC In-Person Meeting April 1-3rd, Charmia Graham (WBB) and David Handler (FB) travelled to Norfolk, VA for the spring meetings of the MEAC SAAC. All 13 institutions that comprise the MEAC were represented. Students handled such issues as the latest NCAA Time Demands Survey which should lead to upcoming legislative changes. Charmia and David returned motivated and ready to make SSU’s SAAC even better.
