Newsletter. Week beginning Monday July 18th 2016. Dear Parents and Carers, What a busy time with so many wonderful activities happening. I would like to thank all the staff and children for the super assemblies, exhibitions of learning and other events at the end of what has been a fantastic term and school year. The Family Fun event on Friday was a new event. We hope you enjoyed it. A very BIG thankyou to SHINE and all who helped. We will post on the website monies raised. The Year 2 leavers’ assembly was amazing and I would like to take this opportunity of wishing all of our Year 2 children all the very best for their future. I hope Shakespeare Infant school has given them a great start to build on as their academic, social and emotional journey continues. It is always a time to be saying good bye as well as welcoming new staff for the new year ahead. This year we are saying a fond farewell to the following: MRS LESLEY KAY-Mrs Kay has been at Shakespeare infant School for 28 years! She has been an amazing member of our learning support team. She has helped so many children over the years many of whom are grown up now! We will dearly miss Lesley and hope she will come and see us and maybe help on the occasional educational visit! We wish Lesley and her husband Noel a wonderful and well deserved retirement together. Mrs Debbie Paddock-Mrs Paddock is leaving to take on full time work at Crestwood preschool. We wish her all the best and thank her for her support at SIS. Miss Lauren Bridges-Smith-Miss Bridges-Smith is moving out of the area. We wish her all the best and thank her for her support in Year R. Mrs Bridget Jardine-Mrs Jardine is moving by up North to be with family. We wish her all the best and thank her for her support in the admin team. We welcome Miss Hannah Newman who will be teaching in Class 6 covering Mrs Ramsdale’s maternity leave and Ms Lucy Allen is joining our early years’ team as an early years’ assistant from September.
May I take this opportunity of thanking all of my wonderful staff for their amazing hard work and commitment this year. They do a fantastic job and I truly believe the children who attend SIS have a great start in their educational journey. I wish them all a well -earned rest! I would like to thank the governors for their excellent “behind the scenes” support. I would also like to thank our wonderful children and families for another great year. I wish you all a lovely holiday and look forward to seeing many of you in September. The academic diary will be posted on the school website with all know dates. Please always refer to newsletters for updates etc. INSET (school closure) dates for next year are: Monday September 5th 2016 Friday October 21st 2016 Friday February 17th 2017 Monday June 5th 2017 Tuesday July 25th 2017 School closes on Wednesday July 20th at 3.15 pm re-opens on Tuesday September 6th at 8.45am.
