Sacred Heart Parish celebrates its 100th anniversary this weekend. The parish will host its traditional Fish Fry on Friday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Tickets are sold out for the parish banquet on Saturday. On Sunday, Archbishop Listecki will preside at the 10am Mass. Today Fr. Ricardo invited all of the children and their families to attend this Mass. He asked that the students wear the school uniform so the Archbishop and parishioners will identify who are our students. There is a brunch open to everybody following the Mass. See you there!

Congratulations to the 8th grade volleyball teams for making it to the Seton Volleyball Tournament. Monday, October 31 at 2 pm will be a pep rally for all fall sports. Catholic High School Placement Tests If you have a child in 8th grade, have you considered a Catholic high school for them to attend next year? Most high school placement exams are taking place on this coming Friday and Saturday. Please contact the high schools that you may be interested in to see when their open house and exams will be.
Wellness Policy
Report Cards On Tuesday, November 8 report cards will be send home.
Birthdays. Students are permitted to bring a treat to school to celebrate birthdays. However, John Paul II Academy strongly encourages students and parents to bring healthy snacks or tokens (e.g. pencils, stickers, bookmarks) to share with the class rather than low-nutrition items (e.g. cupcakes, cookies, brownies). All such snacks and tokens will be distributed to the class at the discretion of the teacher.

Reminder - Carnival Basket Donations Please send your Carnival basket donation to the office. The money will be used to create themed raffle baskets for this year's Carnival. We are asking for a minimum of $4 per student. This is in lieu of actual item donations like we have done in the past. We need 100% participation to make this a success. Please do your part to help our children and our school. Thank you!
Carnival Drop & Dash The first Carnival Drop & Dash is scheduled for Monday, November 28th. Thanksgiving is November 24th so when you're out Christmas shopping on Black Friday or that weekend, please think of JPIIA!! So what is a Drop and Dash? It’s when you drop your children for the school day. There's no need to get out of the car, just fill out the attached form and include with your donation. Auction committee members will be waiting to grab your donation from your vehicle so you can dash! If you are unable to drop off in the morning but would like to participate, please attach the form below and drop in the school office. Can’t decide what to donate? We are always looking for:
Family friendly events: sports, theater or movie tickets
Household items: small appliances, art, etc.
Male-centric items: tools, grill, etc.
Female-centric items: handbags, jewelry, spa baskets, etc.
Kid-centric: books, games, etc.
Cash donations are also welcomed. Your donation will be used to purchase additional silent auction and raffle items. Every donation is very much appreciated and needed. Your donation is tax deductible and a receipt will be provided after the Carnival. Thank you for your continued generosity!

[email protected] Book Fair I am in need of help organizing this year's upcoming book fair. The book fair is an annual sale of Scholastic books that takes place each year during conferences and Grandparent's Day. The sale requires a couple people to help set up, sell the books and pack up at the end. I have already secured the dates and a sign up genius for volunteers will be going out today. This is an event that the children love and I would hate to cancel, I really need one or two parents to assist me in coordinating the set up and volunteers. The Book Fair will be delivered here on November 8th. All the books come in cases and will need to opened. Some books need to be placed on tables and the check out station needs to be set up. November 9 will be a preview day for students and teachers to make their wish lists. Sales will take place during conferences, Grandparents' Day on Nov 16th as well as during lunch on November 14 and 15. Please let me know if you can help coordinate the sale with me. In addition, please consider signing up for some areas on the sign up genius that comes out today. This sale usually makes around $3000 which we turn around and buy books and resources to be used in the classrooms. Thank you in advance for your help.
