[email protected] Welcome to Hutt City. James Dean, a Hollywood actor from the early 1950's, was photographed strolling down an empty street in the rain, wearing a long over coat , hands in his pockets and a cigarette in his mouth. The caption read, 'Boulevard of broken dreams.' His dreams truly broke soon after this when in 1955 when he was killed in a car accident. I guess many have been watching the Commonwealth Games these last few weeks. Quite a contrast between those who won and those who didn't. The theme of my message today is based on a Bible verse from John 6 v 12 - 'Gather up the fragments.' These are not just people who feel the disappointment of coming forth in a race, they missed the starters gun altogether and although the fragments in this verse refers to the leftovers from a meal, there seems a similarity to many people around us - People who are walking down their own 'Boulevard of broken dreams.' We have a message of 'HOPE' that does not depend on our circumstances - but rather our response to God through our circumstances . I trust that you find relief in God from whatever might be keeping you down cast.
