One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret,, the people were crowding around him and listening to the word of God. He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat". These stories can become so familiar to us, like a painting or photo that you might have hanging on the wall at home right now. We can know them so well but there's always something new to be seen, if only we would stop and place ourselves into the picture. The stories of Jesus and his disciples are also quite possibly the story of us and God. Cadet Jordan Westrupp

Senior Services Volunteers Wellington Community Ministries We are looking for volunteers to match with elderly clients to provide friendship and support. A regular visitor dropping in for a cuppa and a chat can provide much needed contact with the outside world. Volunteers may also provide advocacy with health, government and social agencies, find tradespeople for home repairs, and assist with transport (depending upon situations). Training and support is provided. A police background check will be carried out for all volunteers. Please contact Kath Johnston at The Salvation Army Hope Centre Ph 389 0594 ext 64103 / 027 511 3189
